Tark - transfer
Just heard a rumour that he’s put in a transfer request?
Anything else been mentioned about this anywhere as it’s the first I’ve heard of it and it was a bit of a surprise.

Sad news if true. The one player we can't afford to lose.

Re: Tark - transfer
Not sure why he would do that with a release clause already in his contract.
And wouldn't there need to be heavy interest to do it?

Would be an absolute disaster for us so I really hope not.
He did it to Brentford though...

Re: Tark - transfer
It doesn't really sound believable as you would have expected massive interest prior to this happening. Like Leicester really pushing for a bid. And can you submit a transfer request, when you have £50 million in your contract?
Burnley turn around and say, "Fair enough, but you aint leaving for less than the 50" - so it kind of goes against itself.

May not be in the England squad, however he is a collosus for us, just like Van Dyke is for Liverpool. The very last player I would want to leave, and that includes two exceptional other players in our team

Re: Tark - transfer
IF Tarks has handed in a transfer request, you can only assume that he or more likely his agent have been given the nod that Leicester are genuinely interested, they may well be, but unless they or anyone else can match his release clause, he won't be going anywhere.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:46 pmIt doesn't really sound believable as you would have expected massive interest prior to this happening. Re: Tark - transfer
If we start believing rumours that are not substantiated, we really are getting desperate for something to talk about. It's bad enough that players are linked with every team under the sun by the gutter press, let's not go down the unsubstantiated rumour route.
There is a month left before the window closes, so why don't we give the club a chance to buy and sell whoever they think fit, then chat later about whether or not it will be good for the club when we know where we are?

Re: Tark - transfer
I think I am correct in saying that if any players hands in a formal transfer request they forfeit their rights to the 10% signing on fee
That seems a lot of cash to give up - however, £25k a week extra on a four year deal would put it right
We should be looking to get JT to extend his contract now but (and only a thought) if Tarks, or any other player such as Dwight, don't see ambition from the club maybe they do see it as a time to move on

Is a mate who has said it and as I said, it’s the first I’ve heard of it but he’s not one to just sprout rubbish loads so was just seeing if there was anything to it.
Hopefully it is just total BS.
Ps, I apologise for flooding the quiz message board with football talk.

I understand the difficulties CT has moderating this forum. I would advise more openness when posts are removed, I would also recommend not commenting as above because it will encourage dissension.

It’s definitely not an easy task to moderate a message board like this. I just find it odd that of all the random stuff that gets posted on here, picking a football related, Burnley related post in which I clearly said it’s nothing more than a rumour and questioning if anybody else has heard anything on the subject ....... is the post that shouldn’t be on here

Re: Tark - transfer
So someone new to the board knows about that does he? As it happens the predictions were usually absolutely spot on. I know it left the club in a right state and they were threatening legal action at one point. That's a few seasons back now, 2016/17 I think, but he was usually, as I say, spot on.Wellsy1882 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:40 pm99% of most of the things you predict are incorrect

They were spot on but not many surprises in the posts as you would expect from Dyche.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:58 pmSo someone new to the board knows about that does he? I think an injury to one of the centre halves might of been revealed early one week.

Re: Tark - transfer
It was the Palace game when the club finally kicked off and someone went running to Dyche to tell him. I've just looked at what the changes were that day from the previous game v Man U.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:26 pmThey were spot on but not many surprises in the posts as you would expect from Dyche.

1. Tarkowski for Mee (injury)
2. Westwood for Barton (Barton suspended for the betting and had played his final game)
3. Arfield for Brady
4. Vokes for Gray.
Re: Tark - transfer
I remember those threads. The thing that always got me with any kind of starting 11 threads, were that other posters put what team they want to see. If we all actually put the team, we’d guess it pretty much spot on 95% of the time.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:36 pmIt was the Palace game when the club finally kicked off and someone went running to Dyche to tell him. Re: Tark - transfer
I'd say the problem with removing it (now anyway) is that lots of people will have seen it, to remove it could add fuel to the fire, people will believe that there must be something in it hence why its been removed. If he goes, he goes. BFC will still remain.

Absolutely! and if Leicester want him, pay the asking price or beggar off, in other words put up or shut up, we'll see in the next month whether they are prepared to pay top dollar for Tarks or not. I don't think they will if there is cheaper options available to them in Europe.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 4:22 pmif someone like Leicester came in for you and offered to double your wages you would be a mug not to do it, footballers are just doing a job, nothing more.

Re: Tark - transfer
If Leicester offer £50 million then he can talk to them.
So not sure what the point of putting in a transfer request would be. We can't stop him from leaving if they meet the price.

Re: Tark - transfer
The risk with such an high release fee is, if it’s not met, we simply can’t afford to offer him a new contract when his current one starts to run out.

Re: Tark - transfer
I thought the release clause was only applicable to north west clubs given a desire to be close to his mum who at the time wasn't well I believe?
Not sure if his situation was as stated above, or if it has changed but if the above is right - Leicester wouldn't be able to trigger a release fee as it's not applicable to them.
Likewise, what does worry me of late is his lack of England games and there being some views that its because of the way we play doesn't match what Southgate wants. If there is a desire to get into the England set up - maybe this could be something that has happened which has forced the situation..
Or maybe, it's all a misunderstanding and he is very happy where he is?

I thought they'd already tried that one and we rejected it. The club seem pretty adamant that we won't sell for less than the release fee.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 5:22 pmThere's nothing to stop Leicester putting in a lower bid though, is there?

So if Leicester want him, they’ll surely wait until January to tempt us to agree with a lesser fee, if not, next summer he’ll go for a fraction of £50m. That release clause is worthless come the end of this window.
