Alexa
Alexa
So I recently bought an Alexa echo and today I got an e-Mail saying that Alexa can answer questions about football teams and sing chants. I said “Alexa sing a song about Burnley football club” - so I get “And it’s no nay never, no nay never no more, will we play blasted Rovers, no never no more” ..... think Alexa needs an upgrade

Re: Alexa
It's Shankly
But doesn't it have "Bertie Bee said to Bill Shankly" on the wall in the Jimmy Mac upper?

Re: Alexa
I've just tested my Alexa and she said blasted. When that song started in the 1970s, the word Blackburn was used and not the word that seems to be used for them now.

Re: Alexa
In the seventies I’m sure some people used to sing, “Don Revie said to Bill Shankly”

Re: Alexa
Yep, it actually is (or was, or should be) "Bertie Mee", the ex Arsenal manager from the 70's when Shankly was also in in his pomp at Liverpool and the song was first heard echoing around the Longside Burneleeeee.

At the time the song first surfaced he was the manager who had taken Arsenal to the league and cup double.
