Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
In terms of priority I'd agree with you, we are in severe danger of repeating the 'Marney' mistake in 2015, and we know how that ended, we definitely need a CM, most of our attacking play comes down the left with McNeil/Pieters/Taylor, whereas we don't have that threat down the right, now if JBG can remain fit he'll be a big asset, ditto Brady. But can we rely on them playing a good amount of games given their respective injury records, JBG looks bright & sharp in the warm-up games, but he started last season on fire as well, and then suffered throughout with various ailments.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:41 pmThe Cork injury is a concern and that would be my priority. Wideman, no so much. Our 3 widemen can all play both sides and if Cork gets fit Brownhill can also cover Wide Right.
Not sure your difference between RW & RSM, unless you are meaning attacking, dribbling winger and more defence covering MFer.
If Tarks stays, then the back 5 is solid, especially when the skip returns- so no problems there.
And our forward line is more than adequate for this level.
The big worry is we'll get overrun in the middle of the park, we can play Brownhill there, but then that leaves us short on the right.
We might get away with signing nobody this window, but that's a helluva of a gamble, and we'd need to be sure that our current absentees were close to returning to the 1st team fold, otherwise we'll be looking at a few youngsters on the bench again, now that in itself isn't a bad thing, if SD has confidence that they're up to the task.
And if funds are tight we might have to look to the academy to produce one or two in the next year or so, because the rebuild next summer will be huge, no matter what league we're playing in.
I accept that there's no point buying for the sake of buying as some on here are advocating, any incomers need to be able to slot into the 1st team, or at least provide genuine competition, otherwise what's the point of them being recruited.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It might be as simple as us waiting to see what happens with our players leaving.
Or waiting for the season to start to see which players are out of favour with their manager and consequently looking for first team football.

This three weeks ago, but I can't find any links involving Burnley.
German newspaper Bild reported that Spurs have made contact with Mainz about a potential deal for Quaison, with talks underway.

However, I'm not reading much into that, as the account hardly gets any retweets/likes, so they could be fake/bought followers.

It does raise an eyebrow though in that attack is the one position we're absolutely sorted in. Unless SD is looking more at the wide option.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:23 pmSomething in this one I believe - article not written but had started looking at it.

Don't have Twitter, or Facebook, or any of the other similar platforms. After, all they do is sell your info. People say they don't but Facebook has been in court all over the world for doing exactly that. I rather stay ill informed and keep my info as best I can in this connected world.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:23 pmAnd a Spurs Twitter profile with over 66k followers tweeted:

The DM report shows him as an attacking midfielder as well, although shown as being mainly a forward elsewhere.

Quaison sounds a good one, but I do hope we aren't seriously going in with an opening bid of 8 mill. At least put in a serious offer, at 8 million lots of prem teams would buy him, just to put him on the bench.

Not sure how much truth is in this one. But Quaison would be a pretty incredible signing. was one of the best players in the Bundesliga last season. He can play LW, RW and striker.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Sure there was a link with Chris Wood and Spurs a while back (They need cover for when Kane inevitably gets injured again).
Hope that's not why we are looking at a forward.
If he can play wide right too then that would be good. Competition for JBG and the other forwards and allows for a change of formation to 3 up top if required.

But I would be really really happy if he signed. would give good competition in a few positions. Could only assume he would be brought in for the RW?

I'm sure there is, but you don't have to go on Twitter to find interesting stuff, and I certainly don't want to listen to the likes of Trump lying all the time and lambasting everyone who might not support his horrible views.

Something on yesterday about the photographer who took the photo of the Falling Man (Twin Towers) same guy got the first photo of Bobby Kennedy assassination, anyway...hes just written a book. Looks a fascinating read...I wouldn't have seen that elsewhere.

Except according to the latest evidence, Kennedy wasn't assassinated. Yes, an attempt may have been made but the evidence suggests that he was actually killed accidently by one of the security guards in another car, who was carrying an unfamiliar weapon and discharged it accidently as he turned around.ewanrob wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 3:42 pmYou dont see it unless you follow someone who retweets his rubbish.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
An attacking player versatile to play across the pitch. Leaving us less hamstrung when JBG does his and giving an option on the other side when McNeil drifts inside.
So far so good.
Really feel like a signing like this would inject some positivity ahead of the season when coupled with our big 3 all still being at the club come the end of the window.

Don't disagree, but Quaison is quality and Worrel has been gash every time I've ever seen him - i'll add to that though, Dyche's defensive signings have been very good though so if he reckons he can do the job then fair enough !!FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 4:05 pmWe still need more depth in defence though. So he has a reasonable release clause and we are bidding half of it.

My Mum still occasionally mentions the huge phone bill that I built up during the school holidays, wanting transfer news!!
This is current manager, thank you for calling Burnley Clubcall, the official voice of Turf Moor. Followed by five minutes of what the update will discuss with the supposed nugget always at the end and ultimately, a massive let down. I blame BFC clubcall for my susceptibility to modern day advertising!!
