Today's Football 12-9-20
Arsenal vs Fulham
Palace vs Southampton
Liverpool vs Leeds
West Ham vs Newcastle
Plus a full schedule of Championship fixtures.
Unfortunately I think Leeds will get something from today's game and even possibly a shock defeat for Liverpool with it being the first game of the season. Hoping for a 5-0 win for Liverpool.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Clubs coming up from the Championship always seem to do well in the first few games because they are full of confidence.
I do hope Leeds's confidence takes a knock today though.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
I think Leeds might give Liverpool a bit of a scare today but fancy the Champions to get it done in the end. I can see the league being a lot closer this year. Liverpool can't keep up the same pace for 3 seasons in a row, United and Chelsea should be a lot closer to the top 2.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
I don't expect Chelsea to challenge for the title, but if Man U get Sancho (although it seems that won't happen now), then they'd have more of a chance I reckon. I can't see past City or Liverpool though.jrgbfc wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 10:59 amI think Leeds might give Liverpool a bit of a scare today but fancy the Champions to get it done in the end. Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Scrappy. Think the Arse will get a couple more though.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
City will walk it this year. If Klopp can win it again it’d out do the CL win and last year. 3 seasons on the trot without any first 11 signings would be some doing. But in reality I have then down as Top 4 chasers with Spurs and Arsenal. Their better than them, but you can’t play the way they do and keep doing it and doing it, especially without changes.

Not sure what suggests that City will walk it. Liverpool got 99 points last season and won't be any weaker this season.

Not watching it, but the stats suggest an even game?ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:47 pmScrappy. Think the Arse will get a couple more though.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Only 8 teams conceded more than Chelsea last season.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Not sure an ageing Thiago will solve that, either.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Good. I want the 3 that came up to get pummeled early on and lose any confidence they may have. I want them thinking “b0llocks, this is going to be impossible”.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
I think City will be rejuvenated after last season whereas Liverpool have done what they’ve wanted to do for 2 years, win the league. I just can’t see Liverpool doing again 3 years on the run (points wise). I can’t see Man U/Chelsea finishing above both Liverpool and City. So from my pov it’ll be City, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:54 pmNot sure what suggests that City will walk it. Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Fulham trying their best, but a distinct lack of quality on show from them, piece o p1ss for Gunners.
Early days though, but they'll do well to stay up.

Fulham look out of their depth on this evidence, Arsenal could fill their boots here, Willian is having a stonking debut.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Gibson on the bench today. Bet he’s got his Boro shirt at the ready.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
They did, but even in that league they leaked goals, if they don't sort their defensive woes out ASAP, it'll be a long hard winter for them, they don't seem to have improved from their last visit to the PL. Early days of course, and they'll be hoping to pick up points against the lesser teams.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:08 pmI thought Fulham played the best football in the Championship last season, too.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Very early days but a dodgy defence and inexperienced manager doesn’t bode well.
Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
Chelsea haven't got any good defenders. They conceded 54 goals last season.Dyched wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 1:58 pmI think City will be rejuvenated after last season whereas Liverpool have done what they’ve wanted to do for 2 years, win the league. Loudest I've heard the Fulham fans in a long while. Great that they're still in virtual high spirits despite the loss.

Wins in the Champ for Birmingham and Rotherham in the early games, Bristol City with a 1st minute goal against Coventry, an assist for Nahki.
Sheff Wed 1 up at Cardiff, they need to hit the ground running due to their 12 point deduction.

Re: Today's Football 12-9-20
It’s all a bit much. I’ve updated the league table, updated the U23 & U18s fixtures and league tables and got something on site for both their games. All while I’m trying to watch football on tv.
I’ve not missed a goal yet.

Harrogate 2 to the good, and Stanley leading Peterborough, that would be a big opening day win for them if they hang on.
