Not been to Indian Harvest in several years, but it was spot on when I went.
It's Crawshawbooth though and not Rawtenstall if we're being picky.

You have obviously never encountered the roadworks or rush hour on that road...many times its took me 40 minutes to get from Crawshawbooth to Rawtenstall

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
Indian kitchen in waterfoot is the most consistent place I've ever ordered from.
Spice master is far too oily for me.
Nila best place for a sit down or Indian Harvest.
Gate of India is pretty good too.
The only place in Burnley I've ever been impressed with is Premier up colne Rd. Not had it in years mind

The classic ask for a recommendation thread.

And we're starting to wander, from Rawtenstall to Bacup from an Indian to a Butty

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
Unlikely to be anything you would experience in Islamabad or N delhi, talking to a friend the other day trying to knock a korma up & adding coconut instant rejection from the true roots, what's served up here is completely different from there, Bradford will probably come closest from the Islamabad side.
Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
There’s isn’t one that’s better than the best that Burnley has to offer, it’s as simple as that.

As someone who knows pretty much every capital city in the world, you're spot on!... but I sense he'd carried this on and was on about other places such as Pakistan and wasn't talking exclusively about India.

Of course, any curry connoisseur would know that Iran & Pakistan & India also specialise in certain curries & also further on towards China, I think some people on here sometimes are just generally in a bad mood & target certain certain posters just to have a go because of political allegiances but never admit to that.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 8:40 pmAs someone who knows pretty much every capital city in the world, you're spot on!... but I sense he'd carried this on and was on about other places such as pakistan and wasn't talking exclusively about India.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
My kids aren’t so keen on Indian so I tend to only have takeaway. I go to Indian Harvest or, more recently, Gate of India which does a mean king prawn tika rogan josh and bhuna.
Also heard good things about Nila and North Street Indian but haven’t been to either so can’t recommend personally.

You certainly don't come across in that manner, you would argue about pretty much anything at the drop of a hat about the slightest thing with absolutely no hesitation.

Anyone from Rawtenstall remember the Blue Sky Indian Restaurant on Bank St from around the middle of the 1970s we used to go in there when the pubs shut at 11 and give them dogs abuse...I can't imagine what they were doing to our food in return

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
It’s not arguing to point out that Islamabad is not in India and therefore hardly relevant in terms of authenticity of an Indian curry. If my mood doesn’t come across as happy then that’s unfortunate, but I’m really not too bothered. Anyway, let’s leave it at that because we’ve been asked to cut the bickering down on here.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:25 pmYou certainly don't come across in that manner, you would argue about pretty much anything at the drop of a hat about the slightest thing with absolutely no hesitation.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good Indian takeaway in Rawtenstall?
No such thing as an Indian curry before the partition it was united, apart from religion it still is, slight variations with the cuisine styles, Indian seem to be more vegetable based, Pakistan meat based, Bangladeshi fish based, are we splitting hairs here? You could be blindfolded sampling the differences you wouldn't know.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:31 pmIt’s not arguing to point out that Islamabad is not in India and therefore hardly relevant in terms of authenticity of an Indian curry.
