Wow BJ eviscerates the EU!!!
Pretty damming accusations about the EU and the threats they have been making. Will the EU respond and refute those accusations?
Re: Wow BJ eviscerates the EU!!!
No need for EU to respond. In this morning’s report from the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee, the Government stated “The Government is extremely confident that the EU is working in good faith”. Johnson hot air purely to fuel culture wars.

Absolutely mind-boggling that people take what the EU say as gospel.

Re: Wow BJ eviscerates the EU!!!
In the last 12 months, the two major English speaking democracies have had the choice of a priapic, congenital liar and a terrorist sympathising lefty nut-job for Prime Minister in the case of Britain, whilst our American cousins will have the choice of a vain, megalomaniac Reality TV star or a bumbling senile Washington swamp dweller who's calling for " Nurse " every 10 minutes .....
It's not exactly edifying, is it ?

Re: Wow BJ eviscerates the EU!!!
He's a hypocrite, but what's new with Johnson, if you tow the hard brexit line, you can get away with anything in this government.
Thankfully the Labour party now have a sensible leader in charge, and they're finally providing a functioning opposition.
Ed Miliband gave his best ever speech today, and his words were damning towards this government. how can we legitimately call out the likes of China & Russia for breaking international law, when we're doing exactly the same.

Look at it. Johnson signs an agreement, and then reneges on it. He and the media blame the EU. In an honest world, the first question would be; “why did you sign it?” - but his incompetence or duplicity Is not being questioned. He’s being given a free ride. It has nothing to do with party politics either. If the Green Party were in power, and this happened I’d be equally appalled, and not fobbed off by the pathetic excuses I see made for Johnson now. Our whole democratic system is called into question when the press lets a government off the hook like this. He hasn’t shown an ounce of contrition. And when failure carries no consequences you can be certain more things like this will happen.

Because it’s quite clearly not the same. Should the international community be “calling out”
Canada for their deliberate premeditated decision to flout International Law and legalise Cannabis in direct contravention of a number of anti drug treaties?

As bad as the two incumbents are, and they really, really are appallingly bad ( along withh the uninspiring alternatives), it's sadly as much the responsibility of our two population's that anyone like either of these two even had a sniff at getting the power of their office.

You do realise no one takes you seriously anymore don’t you? Why don’t they? Because you ignore what’s right in front of you. And you hide yourself behind your weak and pathetic political argument.
The press haven’t let him off with it, they have ridden him all over the place, and rightly so. He’s reneged on a deal, and in doing so he has ridiculed not just himself, but all of us.
You really are a product of a generation that no longer exists. You are a figment of your own imagination. You are hanging onto something that may well exist (a poor, weak and dishonourable government) but you live in the hope that if the vote had gone the other way, it would all have been different. Slightly? Maybe, but the three adjectives I chose would still be relevant..... and you know it.
And don’t ffs talk about governments with no honour... Blair will ALWAYS be the Most dishonourable PM this country has ever seen... and he’s yours. Own it.

Yes I heard it on the radio also, that's interesting that he didn't come across as well visually, mind you whether the likes of Churchill and FDR would have portrayed themselves as impressively on the box is one of histories great unknowns, and like it or not you have to be able to come across well in the TV world these days.
Hard to judge on just a brief few seconds of highlights, and IDK how it was edited, but I'd advise people to try and watch his speech in full to understand the context.

Well, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I never voted Labour In a general while Blair was PM. I didn’t hate him (as much as you do), but the Iraq War, and the assault on freedoms, and the PFI rip offs among other things turned me elsewhere. So I’m sorry, but it’s not mine to own.bobinho wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 8:56 pmDon’t talk utter bullocks. It’s got EVERYTHING to do with party politics... it is didnt, you wouldn’t be here. As for Johnson breaking international law, I’ve hardly seen the press riding him - as you say they have. Share your links! I’ve mostly seen it shown as Johnson accusing the EU of being nasty (let’s not forget who is breaking the agreement), so apologies again if I haven’t seen the National newspapers roast him over this. But then why should I just believe you if you can’t provide any evidence?
You obviously hate my opinions - why else would anyone say “nobody takes you seriously”? Unless they wanted me to stop talking. It’s cancel culture the schoolyard bully way, So what are you going to do if I continue talking?

Voted him in though didn’t you?
And the Iraq war was 2003, wasn’t that in his second term? So you weren’t turned against him until then? If so, even if you did vote for him first time round, you must’ve done it again. Hands up- I did. Ashamed of it now mind....
It’s not so much that I hate your opinions, it’s what you are desperately clinging on to that I hate. Keep talking by all means, but change the record ffs. Everything blue is bad. Everything red is good. It’s just tiresome. Maybe at the turn of the century there was a place for your politics, but not now. Despite the fact that you were rejected emphatically at the ballot box, you still cling to the hope that eventually your time will come. Sorry, but it’s gone. There is no need for “your labour”. Workers and the working classes (Yeah, PLURAL) no longer need the type of ‘protection’ your (and JC’s) politics tell us we need. The Labour Party needs to be left of centre, not left of Marxism. (Yeah yeah yeah, the daily mail told me to think that, blah blah blah...) When that returns, we can all look forward to a labour government getting everything right.
Anyway, try this... https://www.theweek.co.uk/108040/brexit ... nal-damage
There’s plenty more out there having a pop at BoJo over this... who can blame them?
Schoolyard bully? No better example of that than Corbyn (and his north London reds), continually talking people down, refusing to listen and repeatedly telling people what they want/need. Reminiscent of you and your posts.
Fortunately the nation saw thru him, and we’ve got what we’ve got. It’s not great, but it’s a damn site better than it could’ve been.
