Zoe Ball
£1.36m salary for Miss Useless.
Younger generation must like her?
The over 75's subscriptions going to a good cause.
BBC just don 't get it!

Re: Zoe Ball
Regardless of her salary she is very poor on Radio 2 most mornings.
Her breakfast show has lost over 1 million listeners since Chris Evans left and I'm not surprised by that.

Still a masssive audience - better than many radio shows being touted on here....
Saw her skiing a few years back, fit as hell in real life.

Re: Zoe Ball
She’s certainly not the worst female presenter /DJ by a long stretch ,always seems a safe pair of hands type in her field . Though she’s middle aged white and hetro which pegs her bag in a female presenters league dominated by a and hatchet faced haradians like Balding and Sue Perkins

I'm interested, how much should a radio DJ hosting the BBC's flagship radio show be paid?

Re: Zoe Ball
Is she still losing listeners like she did when she took over the Radio 1 breakfast show with her ladette routine from Chris Evans?
She got potted from that eventually.
Her pay shouldn't be the issue either.

Not a fan of Sarah Cox or should I say her music taste. She seems to only play what she likes and doesn't seem to consider her audience and mix it up a bit.

That's only because we have Cox the professional Boltonian and Jo (did i ever mention Glastonbury) Whiley. I had a listen to Evans on Virgin a couple of weeks ago to see if he had lost any his irritating behaviours. He announces he is going to have a prog double, talks all the way up to the vocals on Spirit of Radio by Rush, cut the end of the song short to talk over that, announces Turn it on again by Genesis and talks all over the intro to that song too.
To quote The Who, 'I won't get fooled again'....
Re: Zoe Ball
Can anyone explain to me why these people get paid vast amounts of money for putting a CD on,its not what you call an exceptional skill is it,same with Lineker he gets paid vast amounts of money for doing very little, great work if you can get it.

Re: Zoe Ball
Marginally better than Evans... but still too celeb obsessed for me, so I’d describe her as Evans with tits.
Sara Cox is a good presenter, really funny, but my fave is Liza Tarbuck.
Ken is inoffensive, and although I used to like Jeremy, he’s starting to grate on me a little. Steve Wright and his big show is just tired.... really tired. I’d like to see either Trevor Nelson (calming voice) or Craig Charles have a go at that slot. Richard all I son is also a good presenter.
But Zoe Ball? No thanks ma gorgeous girl/ma darlin.

Re: Zoe Ball
As daft as it sounds with the title of ‘DJ’ I’m not sure how much say they have in the music played these days. You know you’ve had a long day on the road when you’ve started with the last half hour of Johnnie Walker then Vanessa Feltz and still listening when the Jazz music starts In an evening at 9pm with Jamie CullumFactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 1:07 pmNot a fan of Sarah Cox or should I say her music taste. Re: Zoe Ball
Don't mind Sara Cox but can't do with Zoe Ball
Has the habit of describing everything as "very exciting" or "we're all very excited"
Tuned in for 10 minutes whilst driving the Mrs to work last Friday and she was still doing it, must have said "exciting" or "excited" about 8 times (Zoe that is, not the Mrs)

Awful. Turn her off as soon as I hear her. Must be a lot of people who do like her though as there must be for Nihal on Radio 5 who I also turn off straight away.
Re: Zoe Ball
Ken Bruce and Craig Charles are very good but Steve Wright should have been out out to pasture years ago. He runs the same format of show with the same music as though it were still the 80s or 90s. What on earth is the ‘serious jokin’ thing all about. If the car radio has been left in the wrong station I can’t bear to listen to it for a second.
Re: Zoe Ball
Cox and Ball would be a good double act even just for the shows name.

Based on the figure provided in the OP, she earns less than the average Championship player did in the 19/20 season.

I would like to see a Venn diagram of those who complain about BBC being publicly funded (a complaint about socialism) and those complaining about the leveraging of the free market when it comes to their employees negotiating generous wage packets.

Re: Zoe Ball
I like Tarbuck and used to like Mel Sykes with Carr. Struggle with the other females and frequently have to mute Cox, I have an over sensitive cringe reflex especially when she has a caller. Fortunately, I struggle with the blokes too, so I’m not sexist. Radio 6 is less of an ordeal.
Literally no one cares, why am I posting such drivel? I’m off to try and find out what happened to my life.
