Re: Des
I haven't seen this yet, but David Tennant can turn his hand to any genre, and deliver a great performance, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's getting plaudits for this role, he's very underrated as an actor in my view.

Im waiting for tomorrow so I can binge.
Re: Des
Interesting that it's not a whodunnit, more of a whydunnit. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the attention to detail is very good. Found myself being transported back to 1983.

Havn't watched this yet,i will probably binge it,my ex wifes brother lives on Cranley Gardens in Muswell Hill, some really expensive houses on a very long row, probably be worth millions now, then you get to the top of the street were Neilson lived and there is a grubby looking place converted to flats, really eerie being stood outside there knowing what went on inside,Tennant actually looks like all the real life character's he plays...uncanny but a brilliant actor all the same.

His rendition of 'One Two Three O'Leary' was not great.

Watched the first two of these this afternoon, when the journalist asks the copper what Neilson is like he replies unremarkable....i think if this is a true portrayal of Neilson by Tennant i'd describe Neilson as fascinating.....so matter of fact about the 15 guys he had murdered ..superb story telling programme

Re: Des
Just watched part one and two and watching part three now - great acting and a very dark story. Heard it recounted a few times on documentaries and podcasts and this is quite a chilling reenactment of him.

Re: Des
Not watched it, don't spoil it.
Re: Des
Haven't seen it yet but I read a book about him called 'Killing For Company'.
From memory some of these may or may not be true..
He had a dog called Bleep.
He drank a lot of vodka.
One victim had a 'cut here' neck tattoo.
He was a SWP type.
Worked in a jobcentre.
A favourite song was 'O Superman' by Laurie Anderson.
He was once a policeman.

Pretty much yes, apart from I think it was Rum, one of the witnesses lied in court and was caught out because he said he was offered Vodka.HahaYeah wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:52 pmHaven't seen it yet but I read a book about him called 'Killing For Company'.

What’s SWP, for some reason my brain will only let me read that as Shaun Wright Phillips

You say that. I met someone a few years ago in their mid 20's who didn't know Titanic was based on real events. I jokingly said I didn't want to see it as I know how it ends. They were deadly serious when they replied ''How can you know how it ends if you haven't seen it?!''
