A seventies Lech.....along With oooh you are Awful. = Damaged Lives.HunterST_BFC wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 9:27 pmJim Davidson is possibly the most racist person I've ever had to meet.
I had to work with him and his "team" in '92.
It's a long story.
Cut short it involved Jim Davidson being hired to host a John Taylor function (Black Tory Candidate) and Cheltenham (Tory safe seat) election campaign and John Major and money.
If I get time (and can be arsed) I'll flesh this out more............
Fair to say Davidson is THE most objectionable "person?" I have ever had the the misfortune to have to deal with. Absolutely no redeemable features to this "person?"...
It was a more polished persona most would see on TV - even probably live and that was bad... but the reality away from his "Job?" he was and probably still is as rotten to the core as they come, ingrained in him.
I'll expand if I can be bothered - all true.

No surprise there, then...
Re: Jim Davidson
Isn't that the grand total of about 400 seats then ? I think we know from this message board he would have a few local die hard fans.Martinc265 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:46 amHe sells out the Mechanics every year when he does his shows, just saying
As for that video what a complete embarrassment. Completely obnoxious bloke who is bitter about so many things - sexist, racist, and probably a lot more "ists" too (we know most of the time he is also "pi-ssed").
I'm sure he'll be still doing his "hilarious" Jamaican voices on his death bed with his 8th wife laughing all the way to the bank.
Re: Jim Davidson
Anyone who thinks there was anything remotely ‘nice’ about Hitler can’t be the full shilling. Not sure what that has to do with Jim Davidson. Whatever Davidson thinks I’m sure he is not into mass torture and genocide.

Never found Jim Davidson to be all that funny he was always in Bernard Manning's shadow but all comedians were at that time. However he does make a couple of valid points unfortunately he overdoes the "Mr Angry" presentation.

Re: Jim Davidson
I was told she was from Newchurch... anyway when I went to see him in Blackburn, he listed a lot of local towns, and mentioned Crawshawbooth, Rawtenstall and Bacup - he said he was used to see a girl in Rawtenstall... might’ve been part of his planned patter depending which town he was performing in, but it sounded like he new the area quite well...

He's about as welcome in my world as dogshite on my shoes. As for his views and material being 'of their time' I don't agree. Being a racist cnut; it's never been ok, it's just a poor excuse for people who were racists then and possibly racists now.

Re: Jim Davidson
You know, it is Sids Heroes, but I uploaded it years ago - not knowing the name of the actual programme, when I googled ‘Sids Heroes’ just now - it linked me to an alternative 5 min version
The one on here is the longer cut
Re: Jim Davidson
Not saying it was right but it was of the time. Why do you think BBC and ITV gave him prime time slots? You may not remember sit coms like Love Thy Neighbour and Til Death Do us Part? Again prime time slots. They were overtly racist but were of the time. Thankfully most people are enlightened now.Guppyspotter wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:40 pmHe's about as welcome in my world as dogshite on my shoes. Till Death Do Us Part was taking the p*ss out of the racists and the fact so many numbskulls related to Alf Garnett and thought he was the hero character shows how spot on and brilliant it wasJenny55 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:12 pmNot saying it was right but it was of the time. Think the original was earlier than that. There was also In Sickness and In Health and I get mixed up which was which but think that was maybe the 80s. Original Id guess late 60s maybe early 70sFactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:35 pmAgreed. Very funny fella. We're going back a few years. What.... 80s?
