Re: Fans to get back on the turf
A long way to go yet but that seems like a fair and excellent start.
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Tbf making fans apply online for every game is a good idea. I bet there's plenty of season ticket holders who aren't that bothered about going back with all the restrictions so it increases the chances that fans who do want to go will get a ticket.

It doesn’t mention the cricket field stand so I guess there’ll be away fans. Yet no mention of our away matches??

Maybe they don't think it's possible to have the correct social distancing measures in place in the cricket field stand?Vince Fontaine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 5:04 pmIt doesn’t mention the cricket field stand so I guess there’ll be away fans. Yet no mention of our away matches??

Looks like a common sense approach - well done Ticket Office - as usual

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
The lack of space in the JHU concourse will be a major issue.
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
thats a sensible assessment of the situation, it is impossible to distance from anyone in that stand on the way in or the way out.majormajor wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 5:14 pmMaybe they don't think it's possible to have the correct social distancing measures in place in the cricket field stand?
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Have I read this correctly? A ballot for tickets? Does that not mean the potential to miss all games whilst someone else could be lucky and see them all?
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I'll await till they give full details on how this will work before making any comment on whether its good or bad.
So many things still to be explained, family members and what happens once you've been successful, do you then wait until everyone else gets a turn?

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
From what I can gather from a WBA fan from our local, WBA are running the same kind of system and if you are unlucky in, say, two ballots, you are guaranteed a seat for the third. I guess it depends on the number of seats and ST holders.
I hope so - Unlucky Alf here will probably miss the lot.

Probably safe to assume that if you get a ticket for one game, you won't get another until everyone else has been

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
You would hope it’s a rotation system so if you are successful for the first game then you wait your turn for future games until everyone has been successful.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Concern here for season ticket holders who don’t have email addresses etc. Not sure why they should miss out.
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Aren't the away changing facilities located near the CF entrances?

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Wonder how this will work for those who take their kids on with them for example...maybe an option where you enter the ballot for 2 tickets rather than just the one....otherwise you risk kids with season tickets being successful without a parent to accompany them

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Seems a fair way to do it. Pretty confident the way that they will do it everyone will get a turn.
Was never gonna be based on loyalty points, distance from turf, biggest wallet etc etc like some posters were suggesting.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I’ll try to understand this
If the cricket field stand is closed that will reduce the capacity by @4000. The new capacity is now @18000 and the restriction is only 25% of capacity so @ 4500 fans in for each match. I’ve been in every stand and witnessed each concourse at half time. The upper tiers of both the James Hargreaves and Jimmy Mac are by far the worst for lack of space.
It just seems such an extraordinary decision to exclude @1000 supporters from each match. The club also would lose @£20000 in revenue.
I’m not sure if the players changing under that stand would be a reason as I am not aware of any one catching coronavirus from the other side of a wall.
Just seems strange to me.

They still owe me for last season and when I renew they’ll owe me for this one.

I think it'd be a slight concern if somebody didn't have an e-mail address or didn't know anybody with an e-mail address.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
You’ll apply as a family / friends but it’s gonna be down to what the government allow them to do. They probably don’t know yet so can’t announce anything.claret10 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 6:11 pmWonder how this will work for those who take their kids on with them for example...maybe an option where you enter the ballot for 2 tickets rather than just the one....otherwise you risk kids with season tickets being successful without a parent to accompany them
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I would be mightily surprised if initially any away fans were allowed at any ground.Vince Fontaine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 5:04 pmIt doesn’t mention the cricket field stand so I guess there’ll be away fans. Yet no mention of our away matches??

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I think some people might be surprised by how many season ticket holders aren't bothered about going back with all the restrictions, especially the games that are on TV.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Doesn't affect me as I don't attend, but it would be somewhat ironic, if our 1st game on return was at home to Tottenham.
Even getting the ground a quarter full would be a start, any fans in are better than none at all, and I'm sure the players will get a lift from seeing supporters in the ground.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
Says there’s a help desk. Hopefully they’ll have a solution in those instances. To be fair, you can’t stop the implementation of a system like this for the small minority that don’t, but think they recognise from their message that it will be a challenge for some - hence the help desk.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 7:37 pmI’ve an old friend who has no email address, no computer & no smart phone. So you've paid for a premium seat, and get allocated 1 at the front of the lower tier.
well done everyone.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I think they have thought of most things to be fair, including people like me who were going to renew in the 'Early Bird' period but didn't get chance.
Details of how to renew will be sent out to 2019/20 ST holders in the near future.

Doesn’t the article just say James Hargreaves? Maybe they’ll only use the lower tier to get round this issue.summitclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 5:18 pmThe lack of space in the JHU concourse will be a major issue.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
I’ve not seen him since Feb, I don’t go on the Turf with him and we might not be at the same games.
I’m singling him out but I bet there are a lot of fans who won’t have the facilities to deal with these restrictions.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand what they are doing but they have to look after their long term season ticket holders.

Re: Fans to get back on the turf
It’s a good communication ( for once). Basically it will stop many older generations attending one off games and they could be lost forever which is a shame.
Re: Fans to get back on the turf
It’s really not realistic to expect your own seat.
