Without 75.000 “influencers”, maybe Utd are going to have to swallow their share of sh!t decisions...

£90 million for slabhead
£30 million for Shaw
£30 million for Lindelof
Fosu-Mensah is an academy graduate.
They just look poorly organised but I'm guessing they're not getting enough help from Midfield.

Fulham's defence belongs on Monty Python.
Mind you, they can score a few.
Mitrovic is excellent.

Re: MOTD
Bamford not getting anywhere near the cross, feels the push strength of a 3 year old girl in his back, penalty.
Footy is a joke, thank goodness for Burnley FC for keeping me interested in this tosser sport.

Let's see how he gets on this season, as his past PL goals record is no better than our main 3 strikers.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 11:01 pmFulham's defence belongs on Monty Python.

But he's in a sh1t side. With a half decent team he'd clean up, I'm sure.
Certainly knows where the net is.

Re: MOTD
The pen is how it should be. Defenders have to learn to tuck their arm down behind their back in the area. Once they are all doing it nobody will think twice about the law.
The line doesn’t move why are people wetting themselves. He wasn’t on it, re-take all day long.

Re: MOTD
Do you really think this ? I thought the penalty decision was utterly ridiculous. You can't ever have played football if you think that merits penalising. Zero intent and zero "unnatural" arm. As for the decision to retake there are going to be an awful lot of those if the distance De Gea was off his line is deemed punishable. Keeprs will have to adopt a starting position behind the line which is what it looked like Pope did the other night I think.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 7:46 amThe pen is how it should be. Re: MOTD
Putting your arms behind you as you sprint across the penalty area to attempt to block a shot as your defence is pulled out of position is one of the most unnatural things you could do in that scenario. The law is ridiculous.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 7:46 amThe pen is how it should be. Defenders have to learn to tuck their arm down behind their back in the area. The line thing for keepers however is fair and incredibly clear.

Re: MOTD
You will see more penalty takers adaptin their run ups to make the goalie move, a bit like trying to draw a false start

In hockey they deliberately play the ball against feet to get a free and nobody complains. It’s going to take a new technique, Tripps has done it for many a year. It’s only a couple of years ago players would slide into tackles in the box with their hands up in the air, like a keeper, and nothing was given siting that this was natural. Was it feck, it was cheating.

Re: MOTD
Interesting comments, however, get used to it because we are now doing as UEFA/FIFA want and there will be may more penalties given for handball this season and also, with VAR, more retakes. Those making the decisions want the game to be 100% perfect and I eagerly await their next bright idea to ensure that this happens.
Keep an eye on the number of free kicks which will be given, one way or another, for minimal physical content ---the game is changing at the 'elite' level!

There is already free kicks given for minimal contact.
The referees can’t wait to give them.

Re: MOTD
In terms of the Crystal Palace penalty, I don't think it was deliberate but Martin Atkinson might have thought " Well, that would have gone in if it wasn't for that intervention " ....
It's the reverse side to Arsenal's injury time winner on the Turf in October 2016, when it went in off the Arsenal players arm/hand .... that wasn't deliberate either but we were all screaming for it to be disallowed ! It just goes against natural justice for a goal to be scored ( or prevented )in that way, so fair play to Atkinson ...

Re: MOTD
Lots of mentions of United crap defence, but I was impressed with Palaces.
Everytime utd went forward they kept that straight backline of 4 across the edge of the penalty area. If someone pulled out, someone else filled in.
They reminded me of us. If they can score more goals they should avoid the annual flirtation with relegation easily.

Re: MOTD
They also have Cahill as an option. Set up as counter-attacking side - perfect for the teams that come at them like Utd. Might not be as impressive against the teams that hold back and invite them on - such as SheffU and us.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 11:38 amLots of mentions of United crap defence, but I was impressed with Palaces.
