It’s the Northern Working man’s outlet. Burnley blokes have just taken it to another level.

We've Southampton at home and Newcastle away up next.
Here's an idea - let's see how we fare against those two clubs, similar in PL stature to us - before the whingeing gets out of hand.

Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
Some on here are being led like sheep by the Deadwood trolls. Complain about this, complain about that. Signs of unrest so let's stir the pot. They must be loving it, knowing that their hate is being accepted on here by true but naive Burnley fans who are oblivious to the obvious.
Now they are suggesting some kind of protest movement, which thankfully, does seem to have got shot down by most.
Why don't we all just settle down, think about things rationally and put things in perspective? We are a small town team who are starting our fifth consecutive year in the EPL. In the last three years we've finished 7th and 10th and could have probably done the same again this year, but then Covid-19 got in the way. Football clubs all over the country are struggling with unknown financial implications. Even Man U say it's affecting them.
No one, except the board of BFC, knows much about the financial implications of Covid-19 (TV rights, gate receipts, hospitality.) and with the public largely ignoring advice, the disease seems to be surging again. How can the board plan in that environment? So what do they do? The only thing they can do. Batten down the hatches and hope the storm doesn't last too long.
Yesterday, we put on a great show against one of the better teams in the division, even with a squad devastated by injuries. Maybe, in the next few days, that squad will get some additions that will give us a better chance to change those shows into firm results? No one knows, but I'm as sure as I can be, that the board of BFC are trying their hardest to improve the club without gambling on it's entire future.

Burnley Fans grumbling? No..Nay Never!!
Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
I don’t think there is an excessive amount of grumbling on here at present? I think the majority are being quite patient regarding team matters. Having said that I would prefer to see constructive grumbles than some of the political debates on here where certain posters will argue something to the eighth degree because they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. They often jump on threads and quickly distort the topic of the thread to support their agenda and to ultimately start the tedious arguing and point scoring. Also it must give the moderators headaches at times.

Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
there isn't a set of fans anywhere in the world that don't grumble about their team.we aren't unique.
Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
The way some people go on on here and on Podcasts you would think they are happier when we fail than succeed
Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
I'm not sure Burnley fans grumble any more than other fans do.
They'd probably grumble more if they found themselves in our scenario
- i.e down to the bare bones, no incoming, best player bid for.
As far as I'm concerned I just want to see my team do well and carry on
'punching above their weight'. I do also wish to see them play some decent football,
with passion and hopefully get some good wins.
It would be more than nice if we could also see some exciting football
and partake in the pleasure of us getting some a few new faces in and watching them play
and hopefully improve the team and gee up existing players.
I appreciate our current situation but still find myself a tad disappointed
that we're not able to bring in many, if any players who might fulfill
the last wish.

Re: Burnley fans grumble to much
Do we know how David is 50 years on? Does he still go on t'Turf - when we can, of course? Does he post on here?
And, why is his name scratched out - when it says "Do you agree with David" immediately below?
Also, how long was half-time back in 1970? or, how short were the "discs?" Top 30 show at half-time?
I guess I was on the game v Wolves. We lost 2-3.

I'm called David and was born in 1965. Where do I claim my £1 1s?

Imagine if it had been Long Time Lurker who had written in, they would have filled the programme with his letter

Imagine starting a thread about grumbling too much with that spelling.
