Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Assuming Tarky is fit who partners him this weekend?

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
If Tarky comes back in than I would prefer Dunne to play, as he is comfortable on the left.
Which allows Tarky to play on his preferred right.

Prized asset probably being protected until the dust settles.
Most likely to be Long AND Dunne imo.

I have a fear that Tarky will not play again until after the Transfer window is shut. Who for is the big question

Both, I believe you'll find.
Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
I’m actually not worried at all with either or both. We have a system that protects each other, so whoever it is I’m OK with it.

Long, then stick Dunne up front if we need something with 10 mins to go - wins so much in the air, be like having Crouch again !!

Both will start Tarks is eyeing pastures new.
Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Dunne hopefully one for the future! But it’s definitely Kevin long for me, solid and dependable. I think many are getting carried away with Jimmys performances. But like I say I think he’s got a future with us

I can’t believe people are assuming Tarky will be over his amputated leg.

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Both Dunne & Long will play, and we should get behind them, when Ben returns (which should be soon) then it will likely be Long & Mee (unless Tarks stays) but I'm losing hope that he will, or Dawson & Mee, either way we've got options.

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
It will be both. Don’t fancy us as a result. Ings will be chomping at the bit with that back line.
Will get behind them both, of course, but still find it appalling management that we’ve not strengthened given Gibson departing and likelihood Tarky would also be off. If we lose 6 points early in the season Garlic has to take some blame for lack of preparedness.

Fair points NC, we need to sort the Tarks situation one way or the other, if he's going then let him go, and source his replacement whoever that maybe.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:58 pmIt will be both. Don’t fancy us as a result. Ings will be chomping at the bit with that back line.

No disrespect to Dunne & Long, but even the most optimistic supporter wouldn't be comfortable with that pair playing the majority of our PL games.
We've shipped Gibson out quite rightly in my view, and Tarks is apparently in demand, so if we're not careful we could find ourselves needing 2 centre-backs come deadline day.
Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Hoping Tarks is back. Rather have Long alongside Tarks simply because of his experience. Bit worrying if it's Dunne and Long against Ings with his movement on or off the ball.

I don’t think most are mate, a sore toe doesn’t last a few weeks, a broken toe is only 3-4 weeksbox_of_frogs wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 10:14 pmI can’t believe people are assuming Tarky will be over his amputated leg.
Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Long for now, but from what I've seen of Dunne he has the potential to be the better player.
Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
So will some of the "adults" that play fantasy football, no honestly there's adults that play it.
You can hear cheers all over the pub when its Newcastle v C Palace on the lunch time game, due to goals, captains, mega goal super sub or whatever at fantasy football, its all very odd to me.

Thing that narks me is that we potentially play 2 games with 2x inexperienced CB’s, yet have known at least Gibson would not be with us for 9 months. I just hope I am wrong and Tarks starts tomorrow.
If we end up keeping JT and with Dawson as back up I will think we have strengthened & be very pleased in the long run, but very frustrating that we take so long over it!
Personally don’t mind Long and Dunne as cover - always liked Long for his attitude and have have been impressed with Dunne. I’d like to see them keep getting cup games, but we can’t expect them to play a significant part of the season together.

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
Dunne for me all day LONG
Dunne needs games now at a higher level if he's going to progress, that needs to be with us or Championship level. Yes ok he might make mistakes but think he could be a decent Prem CB. What he really needs is Mee next to him.

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
If you want a good rumour:
Tarks was left out of the England squad to help push him away from Dyches grip. One of the top six managers wanted that as a favour from Southgate.
No England place finally made him push for a new club.

Re: Dunne or Long on Saturday?
So players now not being capped based on their form and their stats, but because of how their manager sets up a game. If that is the case, we should add +10 million after hes got 20 caps with his new top 6 club.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:09 amIf you want a good rumour:
