Udders vs Forest

Post by tiger76 » Fri Sep 25, 2020 8:20 pm

McKenna starts for Forest, Worrall not even on the bench, Darikwa among the Forest subs, that's a blast from the past.

You do wonder how long either manager will be given, both have started the season poorly, and neither club are exactly known for their patience.

Isn't Worrall injured, and it isn't his toe?

Huddersfield should have hung on to Wagner, he did well with a poor team.

Very happy about that. If we were interested we may as well wait until January now!

Heard on the radio earlier, neither team has scored, or earned any points yet in their first 3 games...

I'll be impressed if this is anything other than a 0-0

The one thing that stands out in this game is the pure lack of quality.

Our young players that started the other night would not look out of place, in fact I would go as far as saying would thrive in this game

This is what happens after four years of watching Premier League football, you really notice the difference in quality when you watch a Championship game.

When the going got tough Wagner went walking. Hardly pulling up trees at Schalke.

Be surprised and it was a good goal, out of character for this game.

How many premier League managers have dropped down a division?

Not many, if any, but there's always a first time. Given the history and the current situation, again, would not surprise me.

Just can't see it. Palace next year maybe. Villa a very strong possibility .

Willingly none that I can recall, but there could always be a first

In fact I can only think of 2 PL managers who've changed jobs by their own choice to join another club in a PL season.

Silva quit Hull the day after relegation was confirmed and went to Watford.

Coyle...

Have to admire Forest’s commitment to targeting promotion every season yet not actually getting anywhere near it.

I enjoyed that. Can't beat an away defeat when it's the tricky trees.
Went on a little fishing trip with my WhatsApp Forrest fan team mates. And it didn't take long top get the old 'yeah but we won 2 European Cups'.

Love it.

Why on earth would Sean go to a basket case club like Forest, they're more likely to fall into League 1, than achieve the climb to the PL.

Palace or Villa maybe, but Forest naw.

I was amazed Forest got so close to the play offs last season; they didn’t only because they blew it at the end. They never look very good when I see them.

Shows how poor the Championship was last season, Fulham & West Brom look out of their depth, even a couple of games in, and Leeds are good going forward, but dodgy at the back, there is every chance that all 3 will return to the Championship rapidly.

Forest ended last season appallingly, and they've continued on the a downward spiral, when you get into a rut it becomes harder to turn around, and their manager must be on borrowed time.

Maybe but they are in the Bundesliga, not league 2 and I thought he left by "mutual consent", ie. leave then you won't be sacked. I thought Huddersfield played good football under his tenure, just lacked firepower.

Definitely unimpressed with the game, both teams struggling at the moment. Don't get this obsession with passing for the sake of passing, the number of times both sides got into a position to cross the ball and then passed it back and started again.

Even though managers don’t usually drop down divisions I wouldn’t be completely surprised, the Greek guy who owns the club is absolutely loaded & plenty of fingers in pies go along with that, could be viewed uniquely with promise & ambition if it’s sold properly definitely capable of attracting a big name due to the owners connections.

Friend of mine at Huddersfield said he bottled it when he realised what was happening. He said their dreadful season was all down to shocking recruitment in summer 2018 that Wagner oversaw. But to replace him with the next Borussia Dortmund reserve team coach seemed a strange idea.
