Not sure they will get anything today as Brighton are now a decent team. I'd love to see Brighton stuff 'em.

If United get beat today expect Ed Woodward to go into full on panic mode before the transfer window shuts.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
You just know Brighton are going to regret not burying their chances, Utd look so poor it's unbelievable.
Penalty to Brighton, now can they convert, yes they can, a well deserved lead for them.
A stat from the BBC: Brighton are the first side to hit the woodwork 3+ times in the first half of a Premier League game since Swansea in March 2017 against Burnley.
Ole needs to get a reaction from Utd 2nd half they've been so lackadaisical it's untrue, 40+ minutes played and they've yet to manage an effort on target.
Brighton do look good I must admit, and on this form they'll be nowhere near the bottom 3, but as last season showed they are capable of snowballing down the league.
1-1 Maguire that's daylight robbery.

Why wasn't Uniteds equaliser ruled out for a foul?
Maguire kicks the Brighton lads leg so he scores an own goal? How's that allowed?

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
BHA definitely been the more cohesive team in the 1st half. Fernandes has generally had a poor game (giving the ball away a few times, conceding a pen, getting booked) but has whipped in a couple of very nice inswingers from the left (including for the equaliser). Pogba not done much and De Gea still not back to his old form.
United, though, have a lot of attacking talent so you cant rule them out. I fancy a draw- assuming United can only improve and BHA's luck in front of goal seems to be out.

Brighton have added something to their game this season - more frequent and better diving.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Connolly cuts across Pogba and dives for the penalty.
So Mcmanaman went from definite penalty, can’t see em overturning the decision, contact in the box, to referee got it right, correct decision & well done red when it was overturned.
If commentators can’t decide, what chance do refs have?

Connolly applying his second Ted McMinn style dive of the game.
No penalty, still no yellow for diving.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
VAR will be dominating the discussion again after this game, you just knew Utd couldn't be so bad 2nd half.
You know it's not your day when you hit the woodwork 4 times, Utd don't look comfortable at the back whatsoever, and unless they sort themselves out in that department, they'll be on the end of a few tankings this season, not every team will be as wasteful as Brighton have been today, or as unlucky.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Probably because neither of them were dives. For the first one he just slowed down which he's allowed to do and Pogba collided with him. The second was more of a coming together than a foul or a dive.
Guessing you're a Man U fan then?

Typical, White gets a yellow for a foul that was no worse than McGuires's in the penalty area. No foul given.

That why the first was overturned and the second not given despite a VAR, eh? Man Utd fam referee and Man Utd fan VAR.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 1:55 pmProbably because neither of them were dives. Don't tell me your one of those few people that think VAR gets everything right? Please don't tell me that.
No, I'm a football fan who's cheesed off with the top six clubs constantly getting the majority of decisions.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
5 times now that's and we've only played 80 minutes, so they're hitting the woodwork roughly every 15 minutes, by that reckoning they should hit it again before the 90 minutes are up.
Woodwork getting MOTM for United, and let's be honest nobody else in their line-up has overly impressed, if they get 3 points here it'll be a real smash and grab operation.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Nah, I’m a football fan who knows it’s a contact sport and that all contact in the penalty area shouldn’t result in the attackers legs going from underneath him, followed by a look to the referee.
You probably appreciate the devious nature of hanging legs out for penalties, hitting the deck under the slightest contact or ‘winning’ penalties.
You’re entitled to your opinion, of course. If you genuinely think they were both penalties, I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong.

The second, I said was more of a coming together but again, it wasn't easy for the Brighton lad to stay on his feet. No foul given, fair enough.
A few minutes later, there was an almost identical situation when Utd were breaking forward and two players came together. What happens? Foul and a yellow card for th White of Brighton. Ridiculous.

Apart from that didn’t happen.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:25 pmSo you think that when someone runs into the back of you and causes you to fall, that's a dive? That's what happened for the first.
They were both at the same pace. Connolly got in front, threw his leg back and then his legs went. There as no ‘impact’ to cause a fall.
The VAR saw that, the ref saw that, the commentators saw that and agreed but you saw something else.
