Can't see him playing tonight in case someone comes in with an acceptable offer.

I don't think anyone will. The £30 million that's being talked about is well short of what he's worth to us.

If his heads turned I’d rather he didn’t play. Nothing worse that pulling out of a tackle in case you get injured.

He's 27 and will want to maximise his income through the prime if his career. He can probably get double what we could offer in a 4 or 5 year deal and no relegation clause. That's about £10 to £12m.

He's off. If we don't pick up points in the meantime, it's because we have not replaced Gibson.

The Clarets are winless in each of the last 18 Premier League fixtures that James Tarkowski has missed, losing 10 of those matches.

Who were they against and at what point of the season?
He's only missed ten games in the last three seasons, since Keane left.

Why can't both dyche and Gibson both eat a slice of humble pie and bring the bugger back???

But is he ready to go ?

Tarks would be a great fit for Man Utd they really do need a good CB.Plus they can afford it.
Not that I want him to leave.

Nobody would, but it the only way we could get what he is worth and maybe a suitable replacement as part of a single deal. Thus avoiding the inevitable last minute poker game with a different club and crucially the risk of being short at cb until Jan and at great risk of a relegation battle.

I don't think he will play until the window closes, we will turn down all offers below £40M, he will still be here when the window shuts.

Dyche certainly put pressure on Garlick not to sell in his pre-match interview. I do get the feeling that Tarky wants to leave though and you can’t blame him at this stage in his career.

It sounds like although he may be open to a move, he won't force it. Otherwise, I don't think SD would have said what he said.

If, as I have seen mentioned, the release clause is £50m. then that, surely is the minimum he should go for.

That's up to Burnley, not Tarky. It was them that inserted the clause and it didn't include Leicester anyway.

Be surprised if Tarky wanted to move to the midlands anyway. He moved to us to be near his ill Mum didn't he? I assume she's still ill?

Still? Sean keeps telling us he's being considered. Don't be too surprised if he plays today. Bet Sean would love to play him to reduce the speculation about him.

There's just too much rumour and speculation around as usual in the transfer window. Papers write all sorts of nonsense about players being unsettled etc.. He might not want to leave at all. Why would he with the comaraderie in the dressing room? There's not many teams he could join that are as 'Together' as Burnley.

And if he waits while January and plays well for us, he'll probably get more than that at Utd if they carry on playing the way they are today.

Have to admit that Rashford's goal was a bit of class though.

He has an injured big toe. CT confirmed this yesterday so obviously he won’t play today. So it will be Danny boy v Dunne and Long I assume

Either way, this needs sorting, If clubs are interested enough to bid we should quote a selling price - 40 to £50 mill - and wait for a simple yes or no.
These upcoming games v Saints and Newcastle are the kind of ones that will keep us up - or not. We can't afford to be messed about much longer.

What people don’t seem to realise about the release clause is that it was inserted during the times of huge fees like £85M for Maguire and its there to FAVOUR Tarkowski if a NW top six club wants him. It is not applicable to any other club, so even if they offered £100M we wouldn’t have to sell (chances are we would, but that’s a different story)

It’s not just about the headline price though, it’s the structure of the deal too. So how much up front, how much in add ons etc. Might be better to take a lower fee with a greater proportion in cash up front than a larger that fee spread out over four or five years or that includes substantial add ons.

If selling Tarky means we can sign the likes of Dawson and Wilson then it would take the edge off him leaving for me.

If any players says they are "feeling" an injury there's not much a club can do

Ings against Long and Dunne means at least lots of goals - just had a bet on 4+

I think Dawson would be quality in a Dyche team. More of a goal threat than both Mee and Tarky too.

I've been of the opinion that Tarks is going nowhere but if he doesn't play against Southampton then even I have to admit that it's not looking good for us. Surely a mysterious toe injury doesn't take that long to mend.

I believe Tony when he says it's a genuine injury, as if he wasn't sure he wouldn't have said anything.

Whether or not he's telling the physios that he's still in pain, to prevent him playing, is of course another thing entirely.

If Tarky goes we need pace bringing in.

The QE2 turns quicker than Dawson, so he's no good between Bardsley and Mee.

BBC - "The Clarets are winless in each of the last 18 Premier League fixtures that James Tarkowski has missed, losing 10 of those matches."

Tall Paul - "He's only missed ten games in the last three seasons, since Keane left."

and of those we drew 6 and lost 4 that really is bad journalism - even if they included Leicester it's total bobbins

As I said before, as long as he goes to a top 6 team for a good amount of money, then fine. Thanks for your efforts, you’ve been great.

But please stop telling tales about toe injuries keeping him out of the side.
