Mental.
Handball given after the final whistle and Fernandes scores the penalty.
Out. Of. Jail.

Jammy bastards.
I can’t stick Brighton, though, so find it all highly amusing.

Oh, and penalty given in the 7th minute of 5 minutes added time.
Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Correct decision though.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
How can he blow for FT and then give a penalty bonkers, United get away with it again, their luck won't hold out for ever though, and Ole will know they dodged a bullet today, it's probably a good job there's no crowd at the AMEX today, they'd be going potty at that decision.
Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Brighton are going to struggle if they defend like that all season.

I give up. This is going nowhere. Regardless, Brighton were robbed.Darthlaw wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:28 pmApart from that didn’t happen.
They were both at the same pace. Connolly got in front, threw his leg back and then his legs went. There as no ‘impact’ to cause a fall.
The VAR saw that, the ref saw that, the commentators saw that and agreed but you saw something else.
Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
It's not bonkers at all because the infringement was before the full time whistle.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:32 pmHow can he blow for FT and then give a penalty bonkers, United get away with it again, their luck won't hold out for ever though, and Ole will know they dodged a bullet today, it's probably a good job there's no crowd at the AMEX today, they'd be going potty at that decision.

96.30 on the clock when United took the corner ?

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Ah well, nevermind Brighton.
Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
They wouldn’t. They’d be mincing about like they always do, trying to pretend they’re anything other than the tin pot club they really are.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:32 pmHow can he blow for FT and then give a penalty bonkers, United get away with it again, their luck won't hold out for ever though, and Ole will know they dodged a bullet today, it's probably a good job there's no crowd at the AMEX today, they'd be going potty at that decision.

Good idea. When everyone else sees something but you, it’s probably best to recognise that it’s you who has got it wrong.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:35 pmI give up. This is going nowhere. Regardless, Brighton were robbed.

Yep. Commentators, pundits, referee and VAR all wrong because you don’t like top six clubs and saw something that didn’t happen.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:42 pmEveryone else? I've only noticed you giving it plenty, no one else. End of conversation whatever response you come up with next.
Good idea to stop now.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Ah! right fair enough then I didn't realise that, so the ref is perfectly entitled to check the monitor and award a spot-kick in that case, it was a spot-kick I don't think anyone is debating that, and it was stupid from Maupay to give the ref a decision to make, especially so late in the game, after Brighton had battled back to level.
Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Exactly why VAR is needed. Don’t like either side but clear penalty. The extended injury time was justified due to the Brighton goal and ensuing celebrations.

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Point is, VAR only looks at things once the ball is "dead" and on this occasion the next time it went dead was for the final whistle. So it's an odd one, but we would expect a VAR penalty in those circumstances.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:51 pmAh! right fair enough then I didn't realise that, so the ref is perfectly entitled to check the monitor and award a spot-kick in that case, it was a spot-kick I don't think anyone is debating that, and it was stupid from Maupay to give the ref a decision to make, especially so late in the game, after Brighton had battled back to level.

Let's just hope there's at least 2 teams in the Championship that aren't bottlers, like the number we saw last season.

Mind you, it might not matter. They have already said that they are in serious financial trouble because of Covid.

Palace score with a header straight over Pickford's short arms.
Commentator says "Pickford a bit static, maybe should have done better." Ha ha ha ha ha.

Forest could do a lot worse than poaching TM, he knows this division, and that's exactly what they need right now.Pimlico_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 3:18 pmI'm surprised a bigger championship club hasn't poached Mowbray, you've got to admire the job he's doing however much you despise them.

I wander what the odds are for the Derby Manager to be the first one sacked this season?

Probably about the same as the Forest manager TBH, depends which owner pulls the trigger first, but I can't see either lasting much longer.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 3:37 pmI wander what the odds are for the Derby Manager to be the first one sacked this season?

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
Players will be cutting their arms off soon, what is Ward supposed to do in that situation, how can that be seen as intentional handball a complete joke of a decision.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 3:41 pmanother farcical var/handball rule decision, penalty Everton, scored 1-2
If that's the limit for awarding penalties now, then we'll see a record amount of spot-kicks given this season, I've no doubt.

Can anyone tell me how VAR has improved the game? I can't see it. Yes, it might get some decisions right but it slows the game down and seems to get just as many decisions wrong, so what's the point?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 3:56 pmevery week my love of the game gets challenged. Someone must be making an awful lot of money out of it, or contracts to supply it are far to costly to cancel, otherwise it would surely have been scrapped long before now?

Re: Today's footie 26/9/20
The more I see of the modern game the more I am happy that there are non-league games to go to --at least for a few years until they mess about with the game even more.
That penalty awarded to Everton was a complete joke and, as tiger76 says, there will be loads more like that this season.
