Palace score with a header straight over Pickford's short arms.
Commentator says "Pickford a bit static, maybe should have done better." Ha ha ha ha ha.
He tried to do a back flip and push it onto the bar......instead of keeping it out!
USELESS TART.

Where do you watch the non league games Sounds interesting. Assume on tv as you live in USA
yeah BT sport, usually find a feed online somewhere. Quality of play isn't great but when you have teams going to shake the hands of the away fans that travel after the game it reminds me of what football is about

Can anyone tell me how VAR has improved the game? I can't see it. Yes, it might get some decisions right but it slows the game down and seems to get just as many decisions wrong, so what's the point?
Someone must be making an awful lot of money out of it, or contracts to supply it are far to costly to cancel, otherwise it would surely have been scrapped long before now?
FIFA wanted it and it is here to stay. This season we have had to go diwn teh European path as far as handball is concerned, therefore, you will get decisions such as today at Brighton and Palace.
You just have to get used to it because this how sterile the modern game at the top level is becoming and no doubt IFAB will dream up more Law changes to accommodate VAR before next season.
Thanks goodnes for non-league football and Rugby League!

VAR has great potential, unfortunately the game is run by idiots most of whom have never kicked a ball and by refs who just do as they are told

I wish they would. He's doing far too well for the shower he's with at the moment.
Mind you, it might not matter. They have already said that they are in serious financial trouble because of Covid.
Wouldn’t it be funny to see them “win” the league and then lose 12 points for going into administration and drop out of the top 6

A serious question
It used to be that a penalty taker was not supposed to stop mid run. Richarlison did. Is it still supposed to not be allowed? With the tightening up of goalkeepers moving this surely puts them at an extra disadvantage

It's not just this season that it's crap, it was awful last season as well. The one difference that improves it slightly this year is refs going to look at the monitors.
That said, I still absolutely hate it.

Big fat ZERO points so far this season.
Can only assume they're giving everyone else a headstart before mounting their promotion challenge.
Awfully decent of them

It's strange because at that level they should have a squad that can be competitive, the likes of Alex Baptiste, Nathan Delfouneso and Eoin Doyle should be comfortable in League 2, and yet for whatever reason it's just not clicking for them yet.

Spent some big money has Fwankie in the summer. He’s going to be under some serious pressure if his side keeps shipping goals so easily.

Typical Chelsea they turn on the style one week, and they play abysmal the following week, defence is a shambles, and West Brom probably can't believe their luck.

West Brom are a bang average side, below average in PL terms, but Chelsea’s woeful defending has made them look likely to score every time they go forwards.

All is well though because Chelsea have had 73% possession so far ----66% of that was the keeper picking the ball out of the net.

What was your take as an ex ref on the Brighton Vs Man U game where the ref blew the final whistle but came back on?
I thought that whistle was final?

VAR can review any decision after the whistle has been blown, there is no time limit. There was a case in Germany last season where the half time whistle went and all the players were in the changing room and had to come back out for a penalty to be taken.

Crazy isn't it.
The ref should check with VAR before he blows then.
If the game is in in play maybe a little whistle to stop play then full time whistle later.
Soon a manager will be able to request VAR looks at something in the aftermatch interview.

It was only a few seconds. The ref isn’t going to check if he didn’t see it. It was an example of VAR working.

Trying to get all his big money signings in the same side and it's not working
Abraham should be pulled at half time - just leave Werner up front and get someone down the left
Early days, but this is not good for us

As for Lampard - more coaching players , less shopping for players

That's the issue Fulham had and which nearly cost Villa relegation.
It's all well and good having loads of good players but if they aren't familiar with a system it rarely works for quite a few matches.
As for West Brom, Norwich started off very well, beating Man City but it was obvious that whilst they would score a few they wouldn't keep too many clean sheets.

I didn't see the game, but by all accounts they did OK against Liverpool until they were reduced to 10, and even then it was only a howler by Kepa, and a missed penalty that proved the difference, there's no disgrace losing at home to Liverpool, but to find yourselves 3 behind at the Hawthorns is a whole different ball game.
And they haven't learnt from last season, their defence is wide open, I'm all for applauding attacking intent, but you've got to have a balance between attack and defence.
They've got one back anyway, so it could be an entertaining 2nd half.
