We'll need to accept a bid first though. Leicester are rumoured to be looking elsewhere.

Re: Starting Lineup
And we have known Ben was likely to not start the season since July and probably that Tarks would not sign an extension.summitclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:14 pmBecause we have not signed Gibson's replacement. We have had 8 monthes to sort that.
Re: Starting Lineup
Does anyone know how Tarks "injured' his toe?
I think its a sham really and he wants to leave. If that is the case hope we get some points tonight and a replcement.

No, it's what you get when you have 7 injured!Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:16 pmThis bench is what you get when you see 4 first team squad players go, and don't react to rectify the shortage of numbers for 3 months.
If it hadn't happened to my club, I'd be pi$$ing my pants laughing.

Manchester City a tad short of multimillion pound players .... due to injuries ....

Re: Starting Lineup
We’ve lost 4 first team players, 3 outfield. He’s had months to correct the situation but he’s signed one player for £1m up front. Moreover, we’ve got two CBs with any kind of PL experience and he’s known that would be the case for 9 months, yet has focussed all his efforts on selling Gibson instead of signing a replacement. It’s an inexcusable disgrace.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:07 pmWhat can the Chairman do about a spate of injuries? You can't buy players just to cover a few games.

Luckily it's only the 2nd game of a new season, let's see where we are after the window shuts and we are 12 games in.

There's a lot of bed wetters on here tonight.
Seven out injured.
We are bound to struggle and we are not alone in that respect.
Get real.

Get this ridiculous Tarkowski situation sorted, one way or another, sharpish. Big toe? Give me strength.
It’ll take us at least 4 years to sort a replacement for him to we really need to get cracking.

Re: Starting Lineup
Embarrassing bench.
We've all known for 12-18 months that a couple of injuries and we would be scraping the barrel. Nothing has been done to try and rectify this, now we're paying the price. As for the CB fiasco, how long have we known that we wouldn't be seeing Gibson in a Burnley shirt again? A respectable club would've seen another CB brought back in months since.

You saying those who left wouldn't be part of today's squad?
You can't legislate for injuries, you can for first team squad players leaving, and you do that by replacing them.
I would bet Hendrick, Lennon and Gibson would likely be starting with Hart on the bench.

Kevin Long isn’t a kid though is he? He’s 30 and not good enough. He should be and has generally always has been 4th choice. He is currently 1st choice.
Re: Starting Lineup
An injury to Wood or Vydra tonight and we have strength in depth. Long up front and Thomas on at centre back. Job done UTC
Just been told Soton not won here since 1970
Anyone think that will change tonight?
Correction, now told that stat is when both teams in the top flight

The problem is that the only club that has bid for him in no way matched our valuation.
I hope SD isn't lying, but if he is will any club come in for JT? We could be stuck with another unhappy player.

I expect Dunne is better off for the last couple of games.

I am upset about this. Totally inept management to have two CB’s with 30 appearances at this level. Hope they play well of course.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:30 pmI'd see a doctor if I was you. You clearly get upset very easily.

Hendrick wasn’t one of the 3 mentioned.
Gibson, Hart and Lennon between them played how many games in the last 12 months ?
As for Hendrick he didn’t want to sign the contract we offered. You need to get over that fact.

How do we play tonight? do you think Dyche will have us playing our usual cautious football or will we be more attacking to take the pressure away from the centre backs.

Re: Starting Lineup
Your missing the point. Clubs sign back up players for when starters are injured. Cork and Mee were known to be out for start of the season, Gibson was being moved on. So including Hendrick and Lennon, that's 5 key squad places we knew we had issues with. Add Tarks to that and no wonder we have another embarrassing team sheet tonight.
Don't blame injuries, blame whoever sanctioned this pathetic lack of incoming players.

We’ve lost one first team player, a sub goalie and an ineffective sub. Bizarre how many people that slated Lennon are now lamenting his absence.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:24 pmWe’ve lost 4 first team players, 3 outfield. Re: Starting Lineup
The point is we’ve lost three outfield players and signed one. They were all part of the first team set-up and strength of the squad. Our squad is undoubtedly weaker now and we’ve done very little to strengthen it, hence being in a situation where our CB pairing has 30 or so PL games between them.
If you don’t think that is poor management, fair enough, but I do.

Re: Starting Lineup
I agree if he wants to go then let him go, of course he could be genuinely injured, but it's peculiar this 'injury' only reared it's head when the interest from Leicester and West Ham increased.
The nightmare scenario for us, is he goes at the 11th hour, and we don't have time to get a replacement through the door, so if he's heading for pastures new, then let's get it sorted and start getting 2-3 bodies through the door. we don't need a huge influx, just a CB, RB, RW, if we can get competition in those positions we'll be well placed to have another decent season, Tarks or no Tarks.

It does when SD is manager.
Even if it doesn't, Lennon, Gibson and Hart played less than 500 minutes between them last season, so not first team players by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Starting Lineup
No excuse to not replace sick notes like Brady and jbg. They're always injured and can't play 10 games in a row. We should compensate for that and saying we have 7 injuries is nonsense
