Playing too much in our own half. When we do get in their half the final ball has been dreadful.

Just need better delivery.

And a high tempo to keep them on the back foot and protect our CBs.

Agreed. I’d rather fizz them low on occasion which will catch them out

Why are we lumping it up to Wood and Vydra against their giant defenders?

Neither are we. Add to the fact we have no game changers on the bench, it's not looking good.

On the plus side, it's not as if Pope has been that busy and we definitely grew into the game. We're right in it, if we get the next goal who knows. Southampton are no mugs though, they have some really good ball players

Brownhill should be put in the centre, we never attack down the right and he is being wasted there.

I really don’t know what to say about that first half. Did we have a single shot on goal? If we did I must have gone for a ****. Nowhere near good enough against a poor Southampton side.

I can see Pieters replacing Stephen’s and going wide to get Josh back in the middle... still square pegs rounds holes though

You're really stretching blaming the ref in any sense for that half. It was definitely not a pen, and it could've been a booking but was borderline. Nevertheless we got the foul. I didn't note any delays to warrant much extra time, and it's not as if we were peppering their goal was it.

If the ref gives the penalty, it doesn’t get overturned.
