Booo, Garlick stinks...
Again, like I said 3 years ago, Garlick stinks
What a poor way to start your season.
Thankfully the Man Utd gsme was switched giving an extra game to play catch up.
People speak like he walks on water and saved us from extinction, truth is he rode in when it was sunny and we were on the up.
Now he is destroying us, just support Mr Dyche with the money he has earnt us.

Feel sorry for these players tonight. Played well but have had no help from the board with new signings
Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
Better in the second half at least.
The squad is threadbare, it must be bolstered, alongside hopefully getting bodies back fit, quickly.

I'm getting ****** with both the board and the manager you can see the players need help from the board but also why not put a couple of youngsters on for the last few minutes instead of making a point to make himself look better.

Got to agree with Macca. This is awful. Only us would sign a cheap centre midfielder so we could put a center midfielder out wide. The board have lost the plot. No doubt I'll get called an idiot by some but surely people are beginning to see through this.
2-3 first team signings required or else relegation looks nailed on.

Agreed, this team is embarrassing and needs 3/4 first teamers at least. However, Dyche needs to take a long hard look at himself tonight. A talented bunch of kids on the bench but refusing to use them.
Pathetic all round and very worried.
Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
Disgusting stuff all round.
Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
Yep, Garlick lost us more points again tonight, this time against a relegation rival. By watching the pennies he’s going to lose us millions along with our Premier League status if we don’t sign anyone else.

Garlick did a smashing job for a long time.
He’s done now though. He’s pulled the ******* drawbridge up with Dyche stuck outnumbered outside.

Garlick has been a lying **** for at least the last four transfer windows. It’s only the miracles that Dyche has managed to pull off that has gotten him off the hook.

Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
Very poor from a so called Premier league club. The lack of numbers of players available when you go back to the end of last season is ridiculous. The manager needs backing. Yes we have a long injury list but this has been going on for too long. What's going on with regard to any takeover should not impact on the current situation. We are woefully short on numbers and quite frankly it's an utter disgrace that we are in this position. I really believed we had moved forward in recent years and wouldn't see this sort of position again but.......
Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
Really, really stiff performance but in fairness we've lost two first choice CH's, first choice CM, first choice winger, and first choice striker. Half of the outfield first XI. Wait...wait...don't stop reading, I'm still to finish my point. As far as replacement/backup is concerned, the major problem for me is the two centre half spots, but the choice to play Stephens today in place of Cork (or Brownhill), Brownhill in place of JBG, and Vydra in place of Jay/Barnes isn't catastrophically damning of our recruitment because these are the kind of players we'd want to be looking to play in the event of Cork and JBG and Brady and Jay and Barnes all being injured at the same time, to say nothing of also losing Mee and Tarky. We've little variety and no backup-to-the-backup, but that's nothing new in Dyche's time. We need a winger and a CH, of course, but when have we ever not needed two more players?

How many times should we have changed over the 8 year period?Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 9:57 pmI can count on one hand the times Dyche has switched things in 8 years.
Garlick let him sign a passing midfielder this week.
I bet he wants to go back already.
I wouldn't class Stephens as a midfielder to improve the football, just a plug to move a different player out of position and fill the gaps.
I bet we'd want him to go back on the back of that performance and get a proper right winger in so our better younger midfielder can play there. That may provide a better option for Dyche?

It does seem like a case of either or.
Strange to see such a successful chairman potentially leave in such a way.
I’m still unsure how we came to this point but it’s clear both can’t continue.

The Chairman now is actually holding us back. Our transfer policy the last dozen windows has been lamentable to say the least.
We unfortunately now, because of our lamentable transfer policy are in a perfect storm where we have, for the 1st time, an injury crisis going into the last week of a transfer window and teams will now hold us to ransom, whether it being selling players (Tarkowski where potential buyers can drive the price down knowing we need cash) or buying because selling teams will now hike the price up knowing we are desperate to get people in.
Its a dereliction of duty by those that hold the purse strings imo

I thought we ended last season running on empty and after a short close season we seem to be carrying on where we left off. Thank God we broke the bank to sign a thirty year old midfielder.

The worst premier league bench I have ever seen, Dyche, fans and players are going to suffer because of Garlick
Something needs to be done and quickly, what a horrible way to fritter away PL status with a bench full of youth team players.
We have so many issues despite what happy clappers will tell you on here it’s almost like the ownership and Dyche issues has spilled onto the field, similar to what you see at Charlton/Bolton/Sunderland/Hull to name a few, uncertainty and lack of investment is a killer.

Wow, "last dozen windows" - that's 6 seasons, isn't it? That takes us back to Sept-2014. Didn't we sign Tarks in Jan-2015? Didn't we sign Nick Pope in summer 2016, and JBG - I remember them both in the Charlton team the day we won the Championship, May-2016. Charlie Taylor? Chris Wood? I'll let you have Joe Hart and Ben Gibson.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 10:52 pmThe Chairman now is actually holding us back. I never realized we had a problem to be honest until Claret Tony pointed out there is a problem at board/management level. It is now becoming clear that we do have a internal disagreements. This needs sorting quickly, I hope this take over talk leads to a resolution which is right for the club... as soon as possible.

Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...
We've made some good signings in the past 6 years sure, but we've reached the unenviable position of having an ageing squad with several player's contracts expiring within 12 months. On the whole, we've been lucky with injuries too. I agree that players coming back will make a big difference, and after 2 games there's not much use in panicking. But we have certainly done the bare minimum. In the last 5 seasons we've had a net spend of £10.5 million per season in transfer fees, and now we face the task of a complete squad overhaul in the next 3 years. Sean Dyche is only human, and we will go down unless we invest. It's a miracle we've done as well as we have.

My mistake sorry I read it as the last half a dozen windows lol must be the beer
Re: Booo, Garlick stinks...

Spending that much doesn’t look good at all compared to others. But when you think we sold Keane and replaced him with Tarkowski (I know we already had him, but replaced as in staring 11), Wood for Gray which is a no contest.
If you look at our squad now to 6 years ago is by far a better squad. The GK, CH, LB, RM, CM, LM, F all better and for a net spend of £10.m like you said. The only players that’s get in the 11 now is Trippier and Ings, but even Ings wouldn’t have got in 6 months ago.
I wouldn’t highlight that £10.5m net spend so much. I think we like Liverpool over the same period have been incredible in the market.willsclarets wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 11:43 pmWe've made some good signings in the past 6 years sure, but we've reached the unenviable position of having an ageing squad with several player's contracts expiring within 12 months. My point is still valid though, our lamentable transfer policy has caught us up. There were many on here, myself included that worried about an ageing squad with no sell on value, lack of numbers due to not sufficiently replacing numbers that had left and dicking around with contracts and leaving it (like buying players) until the last minute. Garlicks game of bluff has now found him walking round the car park with his trousers round his ankles

??? The first poster said "last dozen windows." I know it's now a metric measure. A dozen = 12. As you say, 2 windows in every 12 months/season. So, a dozen windows takes us back 6 years/seasons.
Unless things have been changed and I've not seen the memo.
EDIT: I only drink alcohol free beer these days. Now seen your further post. I now understand what you were saying. No worries.
