Sounds like we need to keep him well away from Ian Woan.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 7:28 pmLets see-no one knows for sure but consider this
-he lost the captaincy in a game he played in
-this shortly after he went on record as saying he wanted to get back in the England squad and wanted Champions League, and indicated neither were possible at BFC
-he had a record at Brentford for going on strike
-pre Sheff Utd game Chris Boden said it was only a toe injury, had it been a league game he would have started
-previously in all his time at Burnley he hardly missed a minute(he had a hand operation during the International break-that I believe has been the extent of his injury)
-anti biotics can work fairly immediately on an alleged infected toe
-he has missed 4 cup and league games with what is a minor injury
-this has all happened through intense speculation that several bids have been made by two clubs
-SD is very vague about his injury. Just watch his body language when he talked about it last night
-he travelled to Millwall and was part of the squad
Do you want me to go on

I think it is time to say goodbye to Tarky, and I think it will be perhaps a bitter parting.

I would have thought Steve Cook at best is valued roughly what Dale Stephens was. Never in a million years should we be parting with £8m
Dawson is better and I read that £5.5m was his value

Dawson and Deeney in a £10m deal would be worthwhile
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Only if we have to pay £11m for Dawson.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Rather we paid 12m and left Deeney there.

He must surely have lost the respect from his colleagues. Maybe if Southgate is kept in the know it throws out the wrong signals re a recall to the England squad. One very immature person

From what I've heard Woan and Gibson had a fall-out, and naturally SD supported Woan

I have heard on the grapevine, insider football, that someone in the know at West Ham says there is nothing wrong with Tarkys Toe, apparantley he is not getting game time because he wont let the club look at the so called damaged toe, to assess the damage, says he is doing it to get the move that he wants, remember he did almost the same to come to us from Brentford, if you dont want to play for Burnley then go and do one.

Interesting. I sense that we were thinking £15 million total and Liverpool wanted £20 million. So maybe we've upped it a million and Liverpool are now considering it.Reecey1987 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 8:43 pmAndy Jones says our bid for Wilson was 12 m + 4 m add ons discussions still on going
It would be a very very decent coup if this comes off. Definitely a profit to be made in the long term and Liverpool get someone off their books.

I hope so. He's easily good enough to make our starting 11 and like I say, has the age to turn a profit in the future. Liverpool will understandably want a cut on any future sale, but this could work for both parties.Reecey1987 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 9:02 pmApparently he's been told he's no longer wanted at Liverpool which should work in our favour if we can structure a deal

To be honest I would be amazed if we managed to pull this off. I would genuinely be very excited if Wilson and McNeil were swinging crosses into wood.
Interesting stat, he out scored Bernardo Silva last season.

Hahaha. Harry Wilson.
I’d say there is a far higher chance of us signing his namesake, Woodrow, before we spend the sums being suggested on Harry.

I read "in the next 10 days" from one source, meaning it's likely to go down to the last few days/hours of the transfer window. Why? No idea, but he's probably wanting to wait out and see if any other clubs come in for him.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 9:25 pmSurely if this is going to happen it needs to happen Monday-Tuesday

I think this is basically how Burnley have to work. Annoying for fans? Absolutely, but I just sense from what I read and hear, that our best chance of bringing players in is when every other teams have pretty much done their business, and so players don't really have many alternatives.

To be fair KSR betting odds are normally a pretty good indicator if there is anything in this. Right now Burnley are 1-6 to sign him
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It’s an odd one because this potential signing just doesn’t tally with anything we’ve seen, heard or done so far this summer. The Athletic are a pretty decent source. There could be a number of reasons.
The board might have invested on the knowledge that a takeover where they make millions in profit could be in jeopardy if we don’t stay up.

I’m saying that the board might be spending money on Wilson in the hope a marquee signing will help keep the team up. I think the board will spend the money in the hope that it keeps the team up and the foreign investors come in as a result in

It's hard to know, I guess. We've finished 7th and 10th in our last 3 seasons - that's got to be huge to anybody looking at investing. This wasn't luck, we've done it because we're good enough to be a top half Premier League side. These injuries are above what I would say is normalisation - you wouldn't get this number of injuries normally over the course of time.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:05 pmSorry that sounded a lot clearer in my head.

But yeah, what you say about Wilson could be a bit of speculating to accumulate? Or we're using the savings we have to do it, knowing he'd be filling a huge hole.

If Burnley and Liverpool are as close as reported then the Wilson seal should get done. My suspicion is that this, and any deal to bring in another centre half, are contingent on Tarkowski being sold, in which case it’s going to be a frantic Monday next week.

If we don't then we have gone backwards. Long should be 4th choice at best and Dunne might have done 'ok' last week but he certainly is not the answer long term.
If Tarkowski leaves we need an experienced centre half for now and also a younger centre half to be 3rd choice and learn the ropes and grow into it for a few months.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Very true.
If Tarky goes we need two CB’s to replace him & Gibson or we’ve weakened.
We also need a right winger and arguably cover for Dwight (Brady’s not the answer there either). Quite a pickle we’re in needing three players, possibly four, without any money!

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It's looking very much like Garlick has decided to let
Tarks go but is hanging on hoping to get 35-40m for him.
Even though Dyche has said he doesn't want him to go.
Hence he may have also decided to sanction money on bringing in 2 or 3 others
(Wilson, Christie and another CB?) which may well cost us 30m+ in total.
I have to say I'm saddened to hear Tarkowski might be playing up his injury
in seeking a move - if that be true. I hope that's not the case.
It leaves a sour taste in the mouth, if so.
I can't blame him for wishing away but not in this way.
Apart from his stated wishes to play at the highest level and his disappointment
at being left out of the England squad plus being voted the second best centre-half
in Europe (alongside Virgil van Dijk, I think) he's obviously reached the conclusion
that he's not likely to achieve his ambitions staying with us.
That's not to mention the money side of it.
One would hope he'd show a touch more loyalty to the club/manager
that have assisted him in getting to where he was/is now.
Whatever, you could argue that even if he stayed we still would need to restructure
the team and get a few in. Especially in midfield.
It's going to be a difficult week ahead.
Let's hope by the time the international break comes we can refocus
and rebuild the team and get a few back up and ready for the fight.
