Fair play to Saints
They put in a particularly Burnley performance.
Dull as shoite to watch but they had done there homework and we had no answer.
We weren’t awful we just couldn’t get going.

Re: Fair play to Saints
They got their goal and just sat in. We have no answers when Dwight is off and he was poor again.
We need JBG back sharpish or a couple of decent replacements as Brownhill is no winger and is better than Stephens in the middle IMO

Best team lost, it happens. Lady luck not on our side. I bet that will go down well on here.

I'd be more worried if I was a Southampton supporter, that was pretty much their full strength side.

Could have easily been a draw nothing much in the game.

I don’t think they’ll get an easier 3 points all season.
Gifted a goal and were rarely threatened.

Re: Fair play to Saints
Caught out early again (as per Sheff Utd recently) and a total lack of imagination going forwards.Dale Stephens must be thinking "what have I done".At times we could not even hoof it forwards. There were points to be had tonight from a poor side, and even at Leicester.Whats happening to our club

Re: Fair play to Saints
Was at St Mary's last season and the best team lost...Southampton.. We are dreadfully short with injuries.. We do need some more quality but any team at our sort of stature in this league would be struggling with 7 first choice players out..keep the faith

Re: Fair play to Saints
I thought Southampton were a poor team tonight. A good team would have really put us to the sword.
Re: Fair play to Saints
Southampton might have been pretty poor but held on
to the 1-0 as we couldn't get much past them or create many chances.
Having said that if it had ended 1-1 then I don't think Southampton
would have much to complain about.

Re: Fair play to Saints
We were very poor and created next to nothing.
If we have had been playing the likes of Chelsea we would have conceded 5 or 6. We can't carry on with the pairing of long and Dunne, Dunne is miles away from this level.

Re: Fair play to Saints
Look at the reaction of Saints manager at the end of the game. He celebrated like they’d won the champions league with an injury time winner. I think that shows how much “control” he felt his team had. A patched up Burnley team had the better of the second half and could easily have equalised with a little more of the rub of the green.

Re: Fair play to Saints
We were poor but they were bloody awful , Pope didn’t have a single save to make . They lacked in almost every dept and with a very talented set of players too . Not forgetting were stripped to our literal barebones ,I’d have them as relegation mix without a doubt .

Re: Fair play to Saints
Saints will be fine this season, mid table easily. Ings is class, Adams is settling in and getting experience, looks strong and powerful with some good movement. 2 monsters at the back and good overlapping wing backs. Ward Prowse and and Romelu or whatever his name is are hardworking in the middle and the left winger looked nippy and tidy. Weak link looked Armstrong but still a busy and tidy player.
After shipping a few recently they rightly came to not be left wide open and were very disciplined in defence and kept the space tight in the middle. Nicking a goal early on helped them no ends in their game plan.
We've done it enough times over the years and will do again this year no doubt. Just didn't come out on top this time but we were worthy of a point.

Re: Fair play to Saints
We didn’t create F all, Southampton didn’t need the 2nd goal, they just sat in and watched us cluelessly knock the ball back and forward.
Re: Fair play to Saints
I presume that you must have been making a brew when their keeper saved from a Wood header and Taylor's low shot!

Re: Fair play to Saints
I can’t agree with that.
Had it been the opposite way round and we came away from Southampton with 3 points and that kind of performance we’d be very happy. What can be a tricky away match at turf moor turned out to be a very good win for them.
Funny fans are strange on the all. Games like that you lose and are abysmal, games like that you win and are over the moon.

Creating chances doesn’t mean shooting from 40 yards. I take it you didn’t watch the gameGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 8:35 pmStruggling to read are you?
Clearly shows we created more shots, which means your claim that we created nothing was just more of your usual ********.

Nah I was out getting something to eat with my kids incase lockdown happens again down here and I can't see them.
Judging by someone else's comment, neither did you
Anyway, I've finished pulling your pisser, go cry at someone else like you usually do.
