Queens has tough neighbourhoods but where Trump was brought up wasn't one of them.
I agree, Trump has always said Jamaica Estates was an oasis, ironically it is one filled with jews and migrants, so for all those calling Trump a fascist, it would be ironic that he grew up in such an environment. But they are only a few hundred yards away from less salubrious areas.
My point was that to make money like Trump’s dad did in Queens at that time, would have needed a streetwise character because it was rough in general and the mafia would have been dominant in Queens and very active in property development. That’s why I tend to dismiss his rough edges and weird personality and judge him entirely on actions, which as I posted above, have both successes and failures.
p.s. just to throw this one out there, as I head back to work, if it was Biden or Trump, I’d vote for Trump. Same if it was Hillary vs Trump. If it was Trump or Bill Clinton (who is younger than both of them) I’d vote for Bill Clinton. If it was Trump vs George W Bush, I’d vote for Trump (three main reasons for that sweep of opinion - antiwokeness, gravitas, and tough foreign policy while not being a warmonger). I appreciate that if I was American and able to vote I’d have to consider many more aspects, such as healthcare.
p.p.s. Edit 2. Just realised that all my “votes” have gone to people who were impeached. Must make me a bit anti establishment.
