Duncan Watmore.....
Similar lines to the Jack Wilshere thread, should we take a look at this 26 year old right winger released by Sunderland. It seems from this article that his promising career came off the rails due to 2 serious knee injuries. He was with the Mackems when they were playing in the Premier League and by all accounts was highly rated. Danny Ings has shown that serious injuries can be overcome and a career put back on track with the right motivation.

Good player before the knee injuries. Not the same player since.
Re: Duncan Watmore.....
Is this what we've been reduced too? Released players from league 1?

Re: Duncan Watmore.....
Part ex with Billy Hamilton going the other way....... I can only remember him scoring once, though on checking he scored twice and i seem to recall it being an attempted clearance that hit him in the face and went in.
Not in my top ten of Burnley strikers to answer your original question!

Was a strange season, both Hird and Biggins scored a good number of goals, Alan Taylor notched a few and we still went down

Re: Duncan Watmore.....
I remember him playing against us for Altrincham in a pre season game. We could have signed him then but we weren’t interested.
Went to Sunderland but started just 31 league games for them in seven years. Not required by them and definitely not by us.

With the players we had in that team, we should never have been anywhere near relegation.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:26 pmWas a strange season, both Hird and Biggins scored a good number of goals, Alan Taylor notched a few and we still went down
