Fair enough. Would they qualify for an inclusive travel insurance policy with a bank account though?

I guess the point I’m making is that people seem to make a big deal of the perks they get with their bank accounts, such as airport lounge access. But in reality the value is fairly minimal, particularly if you pay an account fee.
Not so sure about that now. It’s a regulated area and banks have to prove that customers with a packaged / benefits account actually have a requirement for the benefits associated and you have this need documented on the customers records. They also need to communicate this on at least an annual basis with the customer to remind them of their benefits. It’s nowhere near as big or as publicised as PPI but there are plenty of firms acting on behalf of packaged account customers and obtaining retrospective refunds which can go back a number of years.

Mine is £15.50 per month. For that I get :
Worldwide family travel insurance
Green flag roadside assistance
Mobile phone insurance for up to 4 mobile phones - which covers all of my families smartphones
Gadget Insurance - laptops, tablets etc - covers up to 2 devices at max £1,200 value each.
Interest free £300 overdraft

I think that’s pretty decent value - there might be cheaper out there if I took individual policies etc but I’m not so sure and it’s convenient (and I’ve never been bothered enough to shop around)

Can’t grumble at that, sounds like a good package. But you’re effectively paying for it with your monthly fee which is the point I was making. But they all seem like useful perks to have, and ones you would probably pay for anyway so it’s useful to have them included in a single package.

No I know that - it’s what the monthly fee is for....hence the industry term ‘packaged accounts’. A fee paying account for a package of benefits.
There is also a range of other benefits on my product like airport lounge passes which every year I get a chance to choose if I drop one of the other benefits like gadget insurance.

I used to measure the value of the account on the annual holiday insurance as 15 or 20 years ago I know it was more expensive to get a separate policy than what I paid per month to the bank. As policy prices came down a few years ago they added other benefits to the account to try and keep customers from leaving. At the time I remember being quoted £7.50 per month to insure my iPhone and with the bank account I got all 4 of our families insured so again thought it must be a decent deal. I’m sure it’s cheaper now to insure your phone but even if it’s £2.50 per month per phone the bank account still seems good value for 4 phones and all the other benefits on top.

Sounds very similar to my account (edit) TVC 👍🙂👍

The travel insurance and Green Flag recovery more than are covered by the maintainance fee so the Phone ins etc are extras ....

I've now been contacted by the club and if anyone still wants to renew they can do so by contacting the Ticket Office on 01282446800. The payment would have to be an upfront payment, as the Direct Debit option is not possible.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see what the club says. It's just that the 21/22 season is a long time off, and as you say anything can happen between now and then. £400+ is a lot of money to lose if you can no longer attend regular games 18 months down the line.
I had a reply from the club.....

"If your circumstances change and choose not to renew, you will have the option to withdraw the remaining value at the end of the 20/21 season."

So far do's for me, I'm happy to continue with this season's direct debit, if my circumstances change before next season I'm not obliged to take a season ticket for 21/22 Season, and able to have this season's premiums refunded, minus any games I may be able to attend.

That's pretty fair from the club. Thanks for posting the update.

I am still paying mine and intended to carry on paying but I am starting to question my sanity in doing this.
I am at the point where I’m almost happy I can’t go on the games.

The club site says monies will be loaded on to 'my account' from 5pm Monday. It could take a couple of days to get through all ST holders.

It says something about having to have a saved card to the account as well.

Is anyone else hitting problems here ?

From the On Account tab I get a message about the need for a saved card which I’ve got. From there I can’t locate the link which is supposed to say “Claim Refund.”

Our season tickets are ridiculously cheap and I can see new investors putting the price up by a good 50%. I hope they honour the arrangements going forward with existing holders

As the post above yours. I have read it as Monday 5pm when you can claim, but it could take a few days after to get to everyone

Where did you see the message re Monday at 5 ?

Thought refunds could be claimed from 1st November ?

All I get is the message which says “If you want to claim a refund you need to add a card.” I’ve done that and then a blank wall.

Confused ?

I went back to the start of this thread looking through the posts for a link to the club site info.
I think it had been changed since (probably when someone realised it was a Sunday and nobody would be in to deal with the situation if the site crashes or similar.)

They are trying to make it difficult now.

Why would a kid need their own email address for a refund? My two kids had their STs set up on my email address.
Taken from the club site.

I have paid for my own, plus my two children’s season tickets on the same card. Do I need to go into each account to request refunds? Answer updated 23rd October Yes, as part of the onging ticketing requirements, moving into the remainder of this season and next, we would require every season ticket holder to hold an online account and to associate a different email address with each one. In this case we would ask you to use different email address on each account, log into each account and associate a card for the refund to be transferred to.

From the official site.

I understand the pros and cons and would still like to take my refund for the 2020/21 season. When will I be able to do this? The value of all current season tickets holders tickets will begin to be uploaded to their 'OnAccount' from 5pm on Monday, 2nd November. This process may take a couple of days to get through all season ticket holders. If the value of your season ticket doesn't show at first, please check again a little later.

Slightly off topic. I did not reclaim my refund for the last home games of last season. I understood that the value of these would go towards any future season ticket purchase. Where can I find the value of this refund? It is not showing under ”on account “ on the ticketing site. I have not paid for this season’s ticket as they went off sale before I had chance. Any advice welcome.

Ok cheers.

In not linking kids email addresses to their STs. Might have to go down to the club shop and get a cash withdrawal.

I know kids are more technically adept these days, but who’s expecting a child to have an email address?

Why does the club always have to make things so difficult?

No doubt they’ll just suggest “creating a new email” for them

I am going for the refund. Need the money unfortunately.

One huge tip for you

Screenshot what you do. Luckily I did it and it helped when they said I hadn't applied for a refund for last season. Using those screenshots I got the refund. Ironically I was paranoid anyway as they didn't send out confirmation emails when you did submit the request.

I'm applying for a refund today, still not showing 'on account' but someone did say 5pm.

Anyone idea how much we will get back? based on a full adult longside lower ticket paid by DD?

Interesting. I applied for a refund last season and assumed it would cover the STs for me and my boys, given that I paid for them all on the same card. I received less than I was expecting, presumably because I needed to request refunds for the boys separately to my own. It worked out fine as I wanted to make some form of contribution to the Club and I will roll forward this season's, so hopefully nowt to do. Thank you - at least I now understand what happened.

Personally think asking people to pay for a product that can’t be offered a bit strange. Paying for a product that may or may not be offered nearly a year away is also strange. I don’t expect others to agree.

Very unique situation. If it was not Burnley FC I am sure our decisions will have been much different.

I wasn't going to stop my dd payments I wasn't going to claim a refund but from 5PM tonight I'm requesting a full refund of the almost £700 I've paid so far, I'm not interested for health reasons going back on this season or any other season until we can have full crowds back on and the covid is gone or under control.

The reason for me taking my money out is the lack of investment and interest from this board this season, why should they have my money (£1,200+ in season tickets) when they aren't willing to spend.

I was happy to let it ride until next season and start again with my tickets ticket already paid for but not now, I will buy my 4 season tickets again when the season is back and running regardless of what division we are in, but for me personally Why should I invest this season when the board hasn't, and before the bed wetters come on calling me for not being a proper fan, I can honestly say the 46+ years I've been a proud claret (the last 38 year's a season ticket holder) and the 10's of thousands I've spent home and away says differently.

I must confess I've found this sickening how they've done it and I still think it is threatening and bullying supporters with the potential for price increases, no dd and such.

I'm taking our money back on 2 season tickets due to the ppv vote that my club voted in favour of & also zero investment from the board. They keep making it harder & harder every season for Sean to produce the miracles of keeping bfc in the Premier league.. If they are not prepared to invest their money, then why should I invest mine!

Obviously it's up to everyone to make their own mind up on what they do and everyone's reasoning will be different but I think it's worth pointing out that by "not willing to spend" you mean not buying players. I'd expect the ST money will be spent on paying wages and keeping things going.

I suspect part of the reason they didn't spend any proper money on new signings is that they faced the prospect of potentially refunding thousands of season tickets and the increasingly likely scenario of having a season with zero matchday income. Taking your money out because they aren't spending it on new players isn't going to make them think they should have done. If anything, it'll be the opposite.

1. They have invested their money.
2. You are not investing, you are buying a product.

I certainly understand your perspective, but at the same time it is a business and I am not an investor, I am a customer.

If I don't like the product I won't pay for it. Now normally I wouldn't be so bullish but I am so fed up of the current scenario at the club, the state of the Prem and the state of the Covid predicament I am perhaps doing it out of frustration but I need the money too, which probably makes my decision even easier.
