Not so sure about that now. It’s a regulated area and banks have to prove that customers with a packaged / benefits account actually have a requirement for the benefits associated and you have this need documented on the customers records. They also need to communicate this on at least an annual basis with the customer to remind them of their benefits. It’s nowhere near as big or as publicised as PPI but there are plenty of firms acting on behalf of packaged account customers and obtaining retrospective refunds which can go back a number of years.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:57 pmFair enough. Would they qualify for an inclusive travel insurance policy with a bank account though?
I guess the point I’m making is that people seem to make a big deal of the perks they get with their bank accounts, such as airport lounge access. But in reality the value is fairly minimal, particularly if you pay an account fee.
Mine is £15.50 per month. For that I get :
Worldwide family travel insurance
Green flag roadside assistance
Mobile phone insurance for up to 4 mobile phones - which covers all of my families smartphones
Gadget Insurance - laptops, tablets etc - covers up to 2 devices at max £1,200 value each.
Interest free £300 overdraft
I think that’s pretty decent value - there might be cheaper out there if I took individual policies etc but I’m not so sure and it’s convenient (and I’ve never been bothered enough to shop around)
