You need to put a date in the title... 15th. I don't want to be still excited on the 16th!

We need a thread purely about the Takeover.Speculating whilst the current gang are in charge is pointless

When does the window close for getting players on loan for the U23 squad? That's our market...

Feel more at home on this thread, the big boys thread was too rich for little old Burnley.
Are we still allowed to shop in the Scottish leagues or is it just the championship and league1?

That was the final date for international signings or moves between Premier League clubs.
However, English Football League clubs can still sign domestic players, and Premier League teams can sign EFL players, until 17:00 on Friday, 16 October.
Judging by that it's England only.

Dawson has signed for West Ham
Re: Extended Transfer Window Autumn 2020 (Must Contain Link)’ thread
Shame as he would have been ideal for us.
Re: Extended Transfer Window Autumn 2020 (Must Contain Link)’ thread
Very disappointing.
Would have been perfect for us to cover 2 positions and SD would have no qualms whatsoever putting him straight into the first team as right or centre back.
Affordable aswell - and we know SD is a big admirer.
Re: Extended Transfer Window Autumn 2020 (Must Contain Link)’ thread
I suspect that with Dawson going to West Ham it signals the end of any realistic transfer business on our part until January at least.

Close the thread then.
Loan with an option to buy. Only us not thinking outside the box with transfers it seems. So frustrating.

2 or 3 seasons back.

Quite funny that there’s not even the slightest hint of anything going on with regards to signing players.

Gut feel, given CT’s comments, is there has been a complete breakdown of relationship between Sean and the Chairman, so he has no interest in signing the players he wants.
That or he’s given up on the club because that’s what his actions feel like at the moment.

Think Garlick is enormously lucky that there are no fans attending games at Turf Moor at the moment.

Or the chairman doesn't want the club ending like some "last chance saloon" for senior PL players?

We don't really know who (or what) is the stumbling block here.
There's certainly a lot of signings into the U23s, so seems like the club is looking to the future.
We actually don't have too bad a PL squad either, just an ageing one.

Are you suggesting that MG doesn’t want to help SD or the football club? Why would he do that in your opinion? Do you seriously think the Chairman has “given up on the Club”?
Re: Extended Transfer Window Autumn 2020 (Must Contain Link)’ thread
I would imagine the problem with signing younger players is that if they are good enough to play at Premier League level, other teams will get them before us, and they will be beyond the reach of our finances. Buying young players who might become good enough to play in the Premier League would take up any money we have with no guaranteed return. That would seem to be the reason we go for the safe bet of buying older, experienced players who we can be pretty certain will do a decent job for two or three years. I don't think we have the funds to do both and so there isn't really much choice with a few occasional exceptions.

Strange thing to say.
Plenty on here have been questioning MG and the board in the last few weeks.
And plenty defending MG and the board.
Maybe those defending him are basing it on the longest period of success for the club for half a century ?
Whichever side of the fence you sit none of us are party to evidence as to our current financial restraints or what maybe happening with any potential takeover....none of us our happy with the lack of transfers but some of the stuff posted on here about MG and the board in the last few weeks is laughable
Re: Extended Transfer Window Autumn 2020 (Must Contain Link)’ thread
Suppose it depends if you believe the success is down to Mr Dyche or MG.TVC15 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:00 pmStrange thing to say.

I doubt another manager could have done what he did first season with the bunch of misfits and free transfers having lost Austin right as the window closed.
Dont know how anyone can say our success isn't 90% down to Dyche, but suppose it's all about opinions.opinions.

Can’t believe that anyone would think it’s all down to SD and that the board have contributed nothing in 8 years - which is the kind of thing some have been posting.MACCA wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 10:06 pmSuppose it depends if you believe the success is down to Mr Dyche or MG.

Of course most of it is down to SD. Not sure there are many fans who think differently to that.
Have you seen anyone saying it’s mostly down to MG and the board ?

It's all been going really well until quite recently.
However, SD has been really naughty recently in my opinion.

Not sure us lowly fans will ever really know what has gone on between them. Can’t see a warts and all book like Stan the Man being written by either of them can you ?
It’s not good though and such a shame that through no fault of our own we appear to be in trouble. And it ****-es me off even more when you see those clubs around us who have been wreckless with spend or sacking managers every few months coming out smelling of roses

Cant speak for everyone, but it's been building over a number of windows now, and the writing has been in the wall for a while now, with what seems to have been no real plan in place
I choose to believe Mr Dyche when he said he pointed out these potential issues 12/18 months in advance, which will be 2 years ago now, sadly the person or people he was telling chose not to listen
I'm not sure what more he could have done.
If I find a leak in my roof in June, and the experts tell me it needs addressing now, before the problem multiplies, I dont wait until February to see just how bad the leak or final damage is before fixing it, I do it, or at least start planning to do it now.
Other than my own, I cant see who's fault is it if I choose not to listen to the advice of the expert.
But hey ho, what will be will be, I'd like to say its come as a shock and out of the blue, but I like Mr Dyche, saw this coming a few years ago. ( not that I'm anywhere near as great or knowledgeable as he is )

Calm down every TRUE Burnley fan knows we don’t normally do our business until the end of the window.........you wouldn’t want us to risk going bust for the sake of a few days wages would you? In any event the next window opens in January, we can make do until then, you know Kevin Long has never let us down.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 7:33 amI see “shopping in our market” is going as well as shopping in what presumably wasn’t our market.

What price some numpty coming along any day now to ask if there is a ‘loan window’ we can utilise.
