Absolutely, also a promise would be made that I would not make any money out of the club should I ever become the cheque signer.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 3:33 pmThat’s great news Macca. Will you freeze season ticket prices?

So on this thread we’ve had someone suggesting we could go bust and then people taking MACCA’s suggestion that he’s going to takeover seriously.
I think I’m in some sort of Beadle style set up.

Re: Harry Wilson
Hi Woodley, no one else appears to have done it, I hope you don't mind me pointing it out - your post says we've made £600,000m. The number you've typed is more commonly referred to as £600 billion! I know that you know that this isn't right - and you meant to say £600 million.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:30 amRe losses we have made over £600,000m in our time in the Premier league with gate and tv monies
Our spend on salaries / bonuses and other running costs have to be factored in ,but to say we wre unable to pay £15m for Wilson doesn't scan
It's the price and this continually attempting to penny pincing doesn't work anymore
Sean is our best manager ever but this we've no money to spend is an insult to him and us who have poured our hard earned cash into supporting out team through bad and good times.Sean and us deserve better off the board
How much has Burnley paid out in wages in that time? How much has been spent on other player costs, including transfers in net of transfers out and agents fees? How much has been spent on the other costs of running the club?
All pretty skinny returns is the answer - though we've still got to see what the 2019/20 season's accounts will show.
There's an interesting article from the Telegraph on the MMT thread. Telegraph writes about Liverpool's success is "getting top dollar" (my phrase) from the players they don't want and have only achieved a limited number of Premier League appearances for them. Apparently, it's part of what makes Lpool a success for the Fenway Group. Elsewhere, I've read The Times report that Lpool have a £40m buyback on the guy they've just sold to Sheff Utd - and 15% of any sell-on. It's not impossible that these are the figures that have put a brake on Burnley's interest in Wilson. Of course, I don't know much about Wilson. Apparently, he's a dead-ball specialist. All I saw was that he missed the goal from 12 yards with only the keeper to beat. I'd have been thinking again about what he might be worth in that little cameo.

Good point, excellently made

There is more to his game than just Beckham esque free kicks, he can pick a pass and reads the game well too.

Re: Harry Wilson
No, but the fact that his highlight reels focus on him shooting and scoring from the centre of the pitch at fairly close range in open play ( and don't show any long rang shots apart from dead ball free kicks going in ) is quite telling. The absence of any creative assist making is also interesting.
As for his penalty miss and his reduced effectiveness at Bournemouth I blame Nike.

I said yesterday wouldn't it be funny if Liverpool came back with a lower offer and we pleaded poverty because Tarks had not been sold. It shows our assumption of Tarks going 7 days ago

Only 37 hours to go, to be fair it's gone quite fast.
Someone might want to start a transfer rumours thread now, it's officially the start of Burnleys transfer window.

Re: Harry Wilson
Indeed-or Dawson, who has just gone on loan too. These two players would have literally solved our squad problems. Not only has our Recruitment team been ineffective in two years, but our negotiation skills are simply non existent. With no disrespect I am certain Harry Wilson would rather be with us than with Swansea. We might as well furlough this white elephant of ours.
