True , but you wonder just how much, given that Pope, BPF, Long, Brady, McNeil, Gudmundsson and Vydra have all been away for much of the breakclarethomer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 12:57 pmLet's hope that whatever is going on is worth the wait.
We have a team capable of getting results and you know what - the international break has allowed time to be spent on our shape and getting players back so hopefully we can start our season tonight with a nice win.
ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover

No idea what is going on but I hope it’s worth the wait. Not sure I want a full takeover (potentially destabilising) and wouldn’t want one at all if we were able to compete in the transfer market under the current regime, but since that seems not to be the case, investment seems essential.
With so many tough games coming up it’s not impossible that interested parties will bide their time.

Just for clarification the first mention I'm aware of an offer, two bidders NDA's etc. was reported in the Times way back on March 3rd. and was swilling around in one form or another on several American business/sports sites.

The above article mentions rival American and middle East bids way back then.
"Burnley are the subject of a £180 million takeover attempt from rival American and Middle Eastern investors. " 2018 !!!

If the figure talked about (180 million) is in the ball park what does that value each share at?

How many shares are there? is there only one class of shares or more than one?
You can find this info on Companies House. All the shareholders are listed, along with their respective holdings.
Let me know if you need help in doing this. I'll take a look again later.

PS: Just because £180m is mentioned in a press report, there's no guarantee that this will be the price for any deal, if a deal is completed.

I was told Garlick accepted bids for two of our players without Dyche knowing about them.
Obviously they got stopped.
But if anyone is privy to that info at the time, you would expect them to be sold.

As always you can never be 100% sure what anyone tells you, but with Hart mentioning it in his interview it must be close.

This is the 2018 list of who holds the shares. I've not bothered to update it since but I don't think it's much different (there are 122,478 shares now for some reason)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
At £180m you'd be looking at ~ £1,500 a share so not far off £90m for Garlick

This alludes to the info I got a hammering for.
I said that I had been told that bids had been accepted without Dyche knowing, to the point one was at someone else’s training ground, and that they’re was a point when he was walking if they were sold.

Our friend aggi has provided a list. I hope all those with 1-5 shares are all happy with their investments - maybe some plans for a "big" holiday (when covid-19 allows), if and when these sale discussions are concluded and a sale completed (if that is the outcome).
Good luck to all.

Re: ALK Capital...
Doesn't it depend on what MG paid for the shares, while avoiding getting into a discussion about what value might be assigned if that was possible for private company shares? Yes, he will realise a profit - as will all the other shareholders.
There may also be a discussion about what was included in MG's "personal worth" when it was previously assessed - assuming it was assessed for one of those "rich lists" or similar. If that was the case, the question should be asked how much was included for his shares in Burnley FC at that time.

Re: ALK Capital...
Amazing how Garlick could fall out with SD giving that he's one of the main reasons why he's going to make an absolute fortune out of it all?! Without Dyche it's likely Garlick would be looking to sell a Championship club for about £10m!
Re: ALK Capital...
So you have a source who is so close to Garlick that he (or she) finds out news of player sales before Dyche does? And immediately runs and tells you?Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:05 amI wouldn't be too critical.

Hmm. We aren't talking about the tea boy here. I presume your source is either Mr Garlick's confidential secretary, or his wife. Or are you employing a mole to steal his shredding pile?

Simple question.. where are we at with this takeover business?
Re: ALK Capital...
Possibly, although obviously his wealth is a bit of a guess, there'll be tax on the disposal, etc.
Regardless, if it comes off he'll have done very well out of it and I would think way beyond what was expected when he took over a floundering, hometown football club.

And let's be absolutely clear (particularly to those on here who have been quick to criticise the Chairman in recent days) floundering is not too strong a word. Indeed, it required millions of pounds of input from Garlick and his colleagues simply to keep the Club in business less than ten years ago.aggi wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 4:44 pmPossibly, although obviously his wealth is a bit of a guess, there'll be tax on the disposal, etc.
