Sean Dyche: Players 'screaming' to win penalties in empty stadiums
The gaffers not happyhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54653305
He does have a point in my view, if players stay on their feet then the officials rarely if ever give a decision, but once they go to ground screaming like they've been shot, then often they'll get the benefit of the doubt.
The most daft award I've seen this season was the Palace pen against Brighton, but there has been a few other dubious calls to put it mildly.
You could argue that we're too honest most of the time, and maybe we need to wise up, and become more streetwise in our approach, maybe honesty isn't the best policy after all.

The article states that we have the lowest penalty ratio per game in Europe, if I read it correctly. That's what happens when a team doesn't get many men in the penalty area in open play. Is that our problem?

joint 13th for penalties awarded in the Prem League last season and only two teams had less penalties given against them. That bloody big club bias!!Vino blanco wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:51 pmThe article states that we have the lowest penalty ratio per game in Europe, if I read it correctly. Hang on... I thought VAR was meant to clear these things up?

Barnes spends his life on the floor trying to win fouls, he’d go mad if he was the opposition

There were plenty of players in the box on Monday when Long was pushed over.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:51 pmThe article states that we have the lowest penalty ratio per game in Europe, if I read it correctly. Likewise against Brighton in the last game of last season when Jay was pushed over by Dale Stephens and nothing given.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 8:22 pmThere were plenty of players in the box on Monday when Long was pushed over.

They've always squealed and screamed, but generally you can't hear 'em.

He needs to stop banging on about this. Barnes is one of the worst for it.

Watched the Harry Potts Way on c+ earlier.....legend having it HP being capable of starting his tumble in our own half and finally hitting the deck in the penalty area........

Probably needs a bit of context. He's not 'banging on about' it unprompted in Asda or at the local chip shop.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:16 pmHe needs to stop banging on about this. Barnes is one of the worst for it.
I've seen Barnes go over with the slightest touch to his back/neck/head and I've seen him moaning and whinging at the Ref. I've never seen him screaming or squealing to win a penalty or free kick.
