Apparently so. Less any we use this season if any.

Not free... We've already paid, just getting it a year late

And if you opt to take your money back you will be bullied by the club with threats of price increases, no direct debit and no access to any games this season.

For those fans, who are in the unfortunate situation of needing the money back because of circumstance, or because they want to use this to watch this seasons games then they are left in a position of feeling like you are being put under duress.
I can see that the word Bully may be appropriate in this context as it's all about how fans perceive this move and their own situation.
I'm not sure it is from how I perceive it but there is a choice to make and the duress it could put some under may feel like they are being bullied.
All I will say is that do what is right for you today.
You can't make decisions based on 'inferences' as they could easily be a takeover or investment in the club where actually they want to get the fans back in when they can and really build the relationship back up and they freeze the prices again...
If you think they will get fans back in the ground this season, this to me is unlikely to happen until after March is my guess. So if you don't have any intention of going until the stadiums are back to normal - I wouldn't let a ballot keep you interested.

Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
The "I'm alright Jack" attitude is fine and I'm fortunate, like you, that I can continue paying.
But:
Some other clubs are refunding
Some other clubs have not even sold any season tickets
And
If you are in a position where you need the money, money the club have retained for some eight months, you are threatened with potential price rises, withdrawal of the direct debit system and not being allowed to go into a ballot for any games this season. I call that bullying, I think it was shocking by our club.
Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
I wouldn't bother thinking about season tickets until life is back to normal. I'd be very surprised if the current season is completed on schedule.

Looking less and less likely. What about Oxford, they've had no infections but their last three games have been called off because of the opposition.
I would assume we'll have had to do extra testing because of Phil Bardsley and that's happening everywhere. At some stage, I'm convinced the season will be abandoned.

I call it appalling "customer" service, you cannot treat "customers" in such a shoddy manner, and we as fanes are "customers".ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 1:39 pm

Anyone in sales/marketing will tell you the "customer" is king, without these people you have no product to market.
Cstomers have long memories. I'm afraid gaffs like this will come bite the club on its @as when it relies on its "customers" again.
With every message which comes out of the club, I feel more and more disengaged from the club I once followed all over the country.

Not bullying by any definition of the word.
Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
I really do feel sorry for those that feel through new circumstances that other priorities mean they cannot afford a season ticket
It certainly is not a case of I am alright Jack
Neither do I think the club deserves the criticism it is getting
We have to look at the bigger picture and plan for some kind of future.
It simply isn’t feasible to abandon the system of season tickets .
The guarantee that we will get value for our money at sometime is good enough for me
Burnley Football Club is not an unreasonable club and if there is a better way that guarantees continuation as soon as fans are allowed back then let’s hear it
I certainly do take the I am alright Jack attitude when what happens to Burnley FC is all that matters and sod other clubs

Never mind sod other clubs. Take a look at how some of them actually look after their supporters.
I was appalled at the statement the club put out followed by that patronising interview from the chief exec. I think as Burnley fans we deserve much better than that.

They issued threats to anyone who dared ask for their money back. That’s bullying in my eyes and I’ve seen the same word used by other supporters who offered their thoughts prior to the supporters groups statement going out.

Be nice if the club had the option to direct the season ticket money to the food bank. With everything going on it would be good PR for the club and more importantly it would help the community.
I’m waiting for my refund, when I get it I’m sending it to the trust given page

As a minimum the club needs a competent Public Relations manager.

Come on, it's not threats, it's just telling people what their options are. The options have been done to death on this message board, many posts I've seen have been in support of the club.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:04 pmThey issued threats to anyone who dared ask for their money back. Had you suffered bullying, or seen the affect it has on people you would not use the word in this context

There’s different forms of bullying. Those are threats to anyone who dares take out their money, dressed up with a load of bull. That in my view is bullying.Grumps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:16 pmCome on, it's not threats, it's just telling people what their options are. The club ought to be really careful here. This is a depressing time for everyone and if they try and pull a fast one over fans who've been loyal for decades upon decades...
I know we've a reputation for being tight, but treating your customers like shite surely goes against the better instincts of someone with any business sense.

What would you suggest.... You can take your money out, and still keep all the benefits of those who keep their money in?ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:32 pmThe club ought to be really careful here. I've asked this on the other thread, and nobody answered so I'll try again... Is there a company who allow you to keep all benefits, if you stop paying them, or remove all your money from them?

They’d already said that all 2019/20 season ticket holders would be eligible for any ballot. They then withdrew that.Grumps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:39 pmWhat would you suggest.... You can take your money out, and still keep all the benefits of those who keep their money in?

As for the refunds, it’s been a long time coming. But I think they’ve just hit those who might be in most need. As I’ve said, it doesn’t affect me but I don’t like what they’ve said and done.

Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
I didn't see them as threats. They were issues that people would need to take into consideration when decided whether they could afford to leave several hundred pounds in the club's pocket or whether their financial circumstances needed the cash back right now with a guarantee that their seat would still be available to them next season, albeit with a possible cost increase. Just possibilities (that will probably happen) to sway the creditor into leaving their money in the kitty.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:04 pmThey issued threats to anyone who dared ask for their money back. Yes. In general, if a company runs year after year and has loyal customers who get customer benefits, and then the company for whatever reason is unable to do anything for its customers for a year, you would expect those benefits to be carried over.Grumps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:39 pmWhat would you suggest.... Look at airlines. Are they allowing people who don't travel to keep their air miles? Yes. Plenty of others doing similar.
Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
Yes, because those that keep their money in will not have to pay again when we can return to watching the footy. Those that take their money will have to pay again, should they want to keep the benefit of going on the Turf to watch us.Grumps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:39 pmWhat would you suggest.... So nevermind all this "well I kept my money in so I deserve more" nonsense. There's a pandemic on and it's not affecting everyone equally. A track record of being a loyal customer should be more than enough to allow people to keep their "benefits".

Wow not very often i agree with ct about anything but he's 100 per cent correct in this case. I pay monthly dd and will continue to do so because im in the fortunate position to not have been affected by the pandemic, but many have not been so lucky and are now being bullied and threatened by the club they have been giving their hard earned money to over many years
Re: So by paying for our season tickets will we get free ones in 2021 2022 season
That's not how businesses run thoughdsr wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:49 pmYes. You've earned those air miles, already paid for them, and you can use them in the future at whatever rate is in place at that time
The company I travel with for holidays for example.... I have spent more money with them, than I have with BFC, even though I've been a season ticket holder since 1972,so if loyalty is earned by money spent I should get more from the travel company
They cancelled my holiday earlier this year. I could let them keep my money and they would move the holiday to a different time, or I could claim a refund, then book again when the holidays became available again, at whatever price the company decided to charge... See the similarity? At no time did I feel threatened or bullied to make my decision, neither did I think the company were being unreasonable.

I didn’t renew initially as I didn’t think crowds would be allowed back in until 2022. I am still of that opinion, I do mean full stadiums not 25% capacity.

I have just tried to watch the Man Utd game, no passion, no commitment. It’s just like a pre season friendly, it does not capture me. It’s missing the spark, the spark fans give it. I find watching it boring.

Some crowds will be back later this season, especially if the 15 min spit tests currently being trialled in schools, are released to the public or football clubs.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 6:14 pmWell I consider I got it close on Covid, if you take away high early death rates.

It's madness that smaller crowds aren't being allowed now. Sheer madness. Everything was set up to have it done safely and then the government pulled the plug because they sh1t themselves.

Well we will as normal have to agree to disagree.
You might get limited people in this season say 4,000 on the turf Max.
It will be 2022 before unlimited crowds are allowed but due to Burnley’s fan demographic it will not be full. Many oap’s will not risk going.
The younger generation have in the main been lost already, this will just make it worse.
