Well done Lewis Hamilton
92nd grand prix win after victory in Portugal, I guess the next target is 100, and you wouldn't bet against him achieving that at some point next season.

I don't have to enlighten anybody. I think he is an idiot. It's my opinion. The way he has behaved during the BLM saga this summer has gone a long way to cementing my opinion of him. The resident sandal wearers will be along anytime to shout me down. I'm going to pass the afternoon by watching the footy. Have a good one.

Re: Well done Lewis Hamilton
I don’t get the dislike for Hamilton. He seems like a genuinely nice and humble guy. Doesn’t ever seem to make the headlines for the wrong reasons.
Re: Well done Lewis Hamilton
Bit of a knob but without doubt one of the best British sportsman ever.
Re: Well done Lewis Hamilton
Great achievement. Stats says he the best ever, but I'd still have MS as my principal driver were I running a fantasy all time formula 1 team. Through either luck or nous (I suspect the latter) Hamilton has had the 'form' machinery for the most part of his career, Schumacher cajoled some very average cars to the top step of the podium. Not even sure he'd make my 2nd driver, I think John Surtess would occupy that berth, the only man to be F1 and Moto GP (as is now).

Maybe it's the holier than thou attitude whilst he chooses to reside in Monaco so he doesn't pay any UK tax. Or preaching about going Vegan to save the planet while flying around in a private jet and taking millions of pounds in sponsorship money from companies that rely on fossil fuels.

That didn't take long did it. Some people will not see the woods from the trees. Having my opinion does not make me a racist. And I take objection at being called that. People like yourself who cry racism at every given opportunity are part of a wider issue. Anyway. Im logging off now to enjoy the football as I really can't be arsed with responses as pathetic and predictable as this. Have a good day.

Works for, and is sponsored by, companies with proven links to the Nazi regime and doing well off the back of it, but is happy to take their millions whilst sheltering in tax havens etc.
Brilliant driver and rightly recognised as one of the best of all time, he's just a bellend though outside of F1.

As someone who has met Lewis and also used to think he was an arrogant knob, I can confirm he is. I won’t go into finer details but he had a hissy fit because things weren’t quite right when he was at the establishment where I met him (he was overheard by someone close to me). Part of the problem was having to “mingle” with normal people.

He's certainly widely regarded as arrogant in motor racing circles so your experience doesn't surprise me. Brilliant sportsman which I'm sure is all he cares about but he has always struggled to connect with the public for obvious reasons.Zlatan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 5:32 pmAs someone who has met Lewis and also used to think he was an arrogant knob, I can confirm he is. Re: Well done Lewis Hamilton
It’s more a case of lefties wanting people to dislike him.so they can call the inevitable . He’s a superb driver and imo an all time “ top 10” driver . It’s almost impossible to compare drivers from different generations and cars though . Only probs is LH has had a car for yrs now that is almost unbeatable whereas say MS always had to fight tooth and nail , Button outpointed him too . Of the last 25 yrs I’d say he’d be matched with Schumacher , Prost, Senna ,Räikkönen and Alonso and possibly Verstappen
He’s the ultimate modern driver, hopeless at car management but incredibly quick when everything is perfect .

This thread went exactly the way I expected when I opened it.
Great driver, one of the best, if not then certainly the top 3. As a person I’ve not a clue what he’s like, my colleagues have met him when working at MCLaren and said he was ok. He doesn’t have the same infectious personality that some of the big stars do, but there’s plenty of top stars that are the same, I doubt they care

A number of companies have started to openly speak about their connections with slavery in the UK, some are looking at paying reparations as a result.
He's supporting that because its about slavery of and wrongs committed against black people but he keeps quiet when its other people.

I’m being tedious? Do you not think that holding a grudge against Hamilton for driving for a company that once upon a time supported the Nazi party is tedious? Should everyone who drives a Mercedes or BMW or works for either company make a public statement that they don’t agree with their links to the Nazi party more than a lifetime ago?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:39 pmDenounce all or nothing, I'm sure you understand my point, you're just being tedious and dragging this out for some obscure reason.

I don't hold a grudge, I'm just giving you a reason why some people are bored of him and which causes he chooses to support.
He takes millions from companies who made millions from slavery/genocide, but says nothing about it whilst simultaneously supporting a movement that basically condemns his country of birth stating its built on the back of slavery/genocidal acts.

I fail to see how Hamilton driving for Mercedes whilst supporting BLM is in any way hypocritical. I don’t think he should be expected to condemn his employer’s involvement with the Nazi Party. In what way does he not treat all genocide and slavery the same? Can you provide any quotes from Hamilton where he treats different types of genocide and slavery in different ways?
