Likewise.

I fail to see how Hamilton driving for Mercedes whilst supporting BLM is in any way hypocritical. I don’t think he should be expected to condemn his employer’s involvement with the Nazi Party. In what way does he not treat all genocide and slavery the same? Can you provide any quotes from Hamilton where he treats different types of genocide and slavery in different ways?
Round and round and round we go.....

You don't see an issue with it, others do, let's just leave it there because you're boring the arse off me and we won't agree.

Sometimes you just have to let the haters hate!
And then, by contrast, you have to face facts and admit that Hamilton is a "hater" and other posters just say what the quiet majority are thinking.....

It’s unfortunate that I’m boring you, that’s not my intention. I’m just asking you to provide an example to back up your absurd claim that Hamilton treats different types of genocide and slavery differently. Obviously you can’t do that, so I’m also happy to leave it there.

Susan Lisa Rosenberg (born 5 October 1955)[1] is an American activist, writer, and advocate for social justice and prisoners' rights. From the late 1970s into the mid-1980s, Rosenberg was active in the far-left revolutionary terrorist May 19th Communist Organization ("M19CO"), which according to a contemporaneous FBI report "openly advocate[d] the overthrow of the U.S. Government through armed struggle and the use of violence".[2] M19CO provided support to an offshoot of the Black Liberation Army, including in armored truck robberies, and later engaged in bombings of government buildings

After living as a fugitive for two years, Rosenberg was arrested in 1984 while in possession of a large cache of explosives and firearms. She had also been sought as an accomplice in the 1979 prison escape of Assata Shakur and in the 1981 Brink's robbery that resulted in the deaths of two police and a guard[4], although she was never charged in either case.

Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years' imprisonment on the weapons and explosives charges. She spent 16 years in prison, during which she became a poet, author, and AIDS activist. Her sentence was commuted to time served by President Bill Clinton on January 20, 2001,[5] his final day in office.[6][7]

Well this thread soon went off topic, why on earth peeps can't celebrate a great British icon on his success IDK. This is precisely why having a non-political section wouldn't work, I don't agree with all Lewis Hamilton's opinions, but this thread was supposed to be about his racing career, and yet it seems to have descended into a debate about BLM and The Holocaust, I wish I'd never bothered starting it now, yet another thread that has fallen into the gutter.

What a ridiculous thread.
Expecting Hamilton to renounce the Nazis because he drives German cars. Is that the same for those who drive for Ferarri because they sided with the Nazis ?
Which country of the various car manufacturers has a spotless history ? How far in history do we need to go back before it’s ok ?

Oh and for what it’s worth I don’t like Hamilton. Moving to a tax haven, his infamous hissy fits, and various other things I’ve never been able to warm to him. But mostly I think it’s because it’s one of the only sports that I don’t enjoy - used to like it back in the Senna / Prost era but had no interest in it for years since it all became about the car and not the driver.

https://www.influencewatch.org/person/susan-rosenberg/

Susan Rosenberg is a convicted domestic terrorist and radical left activist whose youth was spent protesting the Vietnam War and racism in America. A member of the Weather Underground and other radical organizations which used violence as a tool for political change, Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years in federal prison after being arrested for possession of explosives and weapons during the planning of a number of bombing operations. [1] She was also a suspect in a 1981 armored car robbery which left one guard and two officers dead. She was released in 2001 when then-President Bill Clinton commuted her sentence. [2]

The commutation led to bipartisan criticism from Republican New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as well as police officials. [3] Rosenberg continued her radical activism through the publication of her 2011 book, An American Radical, and as the Vice-Chair of the fiscal sponsor group Thousand Currents. [4] [5] She also spent 12 years working for the left-of-center social activism group American Jewish World Service and co-founded the anti-prison group National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls. [6]

From 2016 to 2020, Thousand Currents became one of America’s most influential racial and social change organizations because it is Black Lives Matter Global Network’s fiscal sponsor. [7] As the group’s fiscal sponsor, Thousand Currents handles Black Lives Matter’s administrative and back-end work so the racial group can focus on its activism, protests, and riots. [8] As of June 24, 2020, Thousand Currents had deleted from its website the Board of Directors information listing Rosenberg’s biography. [9]

Reading a lot of the replies it's quite easy to understand why 'peeps' can't just celebrate him, he isn't liked much and not just because he supports that American led BLM nonsense over here.

It gets up folks noses when they are force fed by media and sports people, something that has no relevance here. Black folk aren't the same everywhere, that would be racist, and neither are white policemen.

Divisive, it needs to end.

Interesting that the people stating Hamilton shouldn't feel guilty for taking money from several firms that profited from the persecution of a race, are the same ones who expect people to kneel on the floor and feel ashamed for being white

Just a great thread. Despite everything, Jakub’s contribution still takes the crown.

I’ve no real opinion on Lewis Hamilton but he evidently winds up all the right people. Ringo furiously multi posting, pasting Wikipedia entries, frantically editing, the works. Just need a link to a far right Twitter account and it’s house.

That didn't take long did it. Some people will not see the woods from the trees. Having my opinion does not make me a racist. And I take objection at being called that. People like yourself who cry racism at every given opportunity are part of a wider issue. Anyway. Im logging off now to enjoy the football as I really can't be arsed with responses as pathetic and predictable as this. Have a good day.
You can't really come out and say that you don't like someone because they expressed the opinion that black lives matter just as much as white lives, and then get upset that we call you racist. Well, I suppose you can but we all get to laugh at you while you cry.
