Jose - sign of the times
Probably not so much a dig at our school chairs in a portakabin.
But at his own players. After a hard fought win. All of them sat post match on their phones. I get why he allows them to do it. As he probably got a mixed reception anyway. But the point he’s making is true.
When you see pictures of celebrations back in the day (granted this was only one game). It was all genuine. And mattered. And teams were teams.
But sad to see this. I can’t imagine it’s allowed in our dressing room but if so we are likely to be the exception to the rule.

Can you imagine some of the comments our players would be making if they looked on here straight after a defeat

Mourinho has a dig at his players using social media after a win by posting on social media after a win.

I’m sure some will. That’s one reason why it will likely be banned in our changing room.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 8:23 amCan you imagine some of the comments our players would be making if they looked on here straight after a defeat

I suppose it is a sign of the times, but they are adults, not school kids.
I feel mobile phones can rule our lives if you allow them. We were in the Lake District last month and quite a lot of people seemed to prefer looking at their phones rather than the beautiful scenery. I'm trying to 'de-phone'. At weekends I now only pick my phone up if I get a call from someone on my family and friends list.

He is a good tactician. Get them right and its worth at least one goal start.Other managers will have seen that, and put two big centre halves to match our 442 and contain Wood & Barnes.Southampton did it bringing in their big CH Westervald against us. This is why Jay should have got 30-35 minutes last night,

Maybe that’s where we’re going wrong. Perhaps it’s time that Dyche stops treating the players like naughty children at a 1950s boarding school, and let’s grown adults make their own decisions.

True, it’s only if we allow it to, you can leave your phone at home maybe not a good idea if an emergency arose but you can easily go silent profile & just ignore the damn thing I often do it’s annoying with something beeping away all the time, we should be in control & not the mobile phone, I think with some business people it’s more of a necessity to be engaged constantly.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 9:04 amI suppose it is a sign of the times, but they are adults, not school kids.

Like I was saying, only friends & family can get through at weekend. I've also jacked in all social media apart from work related stuff. This is the only forum I currently post on.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:17 amTrue, it’s only if we allow it to, you can leave your phone at home maybe not a good idea if an emergency arose but you can easily go silent profile & just ignore the damn thing

I know what you are saying, you’ve minimised the use, I get a lot calls & text messages - we understand you’ve been involved in a car/work accident or somebody trying to sell you something, it’s too much I block them all & report it as spam, there still seem to get through though on different numbers.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:24 amLike I was saying, only friends & family can get through at weekend. It’s incredible how much they have taken over our lives though.

I know the ones who don't like Dyche are becoming slightly more vocal at the moment but...claret2018 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:13 amMaybe that’s where we’re going wrong. Probably have 10 more points if the players could get on their phones for 10 minutes at half time.

Re: Jose - sign of the times
If I do something with my daughters, I tend to leave my phone at home. If it's at a party or something, I tend to interact with them and the other parents, otherwise, I'll just be in corner, constantly checking my phone. Same goes for weddings and so on - not having a phone makes you have to engage with people around you more which is better than looking at a screen.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 9:04 amI suppose it is a sign of the times, but they are adults, not school kids.
