I've been following the efforts of Charlton fans to try and safeguard the future of their club in recent years after the protests we witnessed when we were crowned as champions at the Valley. We really need to heed their warnings and take action

Yes if it's too the right parties and for the good of the club, neither of those criteria appear to be met by the figures involved, I know nothing about the Egyptian fella, but Farnell being involved doesn't sound good to me given his dubious track record.theboydonegood wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:22 pmI thought a takeover was what Burnley fans wanted !!

Its now a good time to show that we are a " Club for all" come on Burnley we are waiting.
Re: ALK Capital...
CT your importance becomes paramount right now as you will be liaising with the other BFC supporter groups, as well as out friends at Charlton and Bury, please do a good job, and I/we are behind whatever you guys decide and will offer full support on whatever is needed.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:04 pmWe need to get as much info as we can. I've already started that process on behalf of Burnley FC Supporters Groups in terms of other clubs he might have been involved with (Charlton have already been brilliant). I'll also be speaking to the FSA. I'll publish as much as I am able although I'm sure there will be stuff I can't.
If this is happening and is a good move for Burnley FC then we'll find that out. If this is happening and it is not a good move for Burnley FC then we need to be armed with as much information as possible.

Re: ALK Capital...
Just had quick insight into the draft communication.
We would like to confirm that our position remains the same as it was yesterday. We have been open to exploring external investment for some time now to help secure the long term future of the club. Until such investment has been secured, we are unable to comment and report on media speculation. This is all we can say at this time.
Once we are in a position to tell you anything, we will draw it out as long as possible and once I have got the deposit down on the Yacht in Monaco, I will then look to make a further statement at that point. Until we have something to report, we are looking forward to focusing our attention on supporting Sean and the team and we look forward to receiving your PPV contributions on Saturday...

Something just doesn’t ring true about this... I just can’t see Mike Garlick selling to this mob. And even if he might, you’d expect the rest of the Board would keep him on the straight and narrow?

Re: ALK Capital...
This is the problem when we get reports in the media and there is no evidence of any of it being true. I suspect there is likely be enough there for a story to be run but how informed they are of the goings-on - who knows.
We have been so lucky with having the board that we have had and being unfashionable has worked for us in that sense when it comes to keeping vultures away from the club. However, we are run well, we are as established as a club can be in the premier league now if you are outside the top 6-8 clubs so we have come into the trend by the looks of it.
It is an uncertain time for fans and the club indeed.

Swans fan here. Chris Farnell acted as a lawyer for the Yanks when they took over the Swans. He bullied one of the directors into resigning from his position. The director sued the club for unfair dismissal.

On the face of it this just doesn’t add up.
Where’s the money coming from? Why would we sell to somebody with this track record?
It seems too bizarre to be true.

It'll tell you all you need to know about Garlick if he sells to these two. However this imo opinion has been the end game all along, the goose fattening has been going on for a good few seasons as I've stated many times on here in the past

I have no interest if this is believed or not, nor do I care if it is in line what others have been told, this is absolute fact

Re: ALK Capital...
Now of all times, is for us to stand up as one to be counted as one! as some older members of the board have done in the past and now its our turn under the experience and direction of those who have seen this before. Bickering hast to stop and understand we are all here for the same passion being Burnley FC and we all need to pull together and offer what ever we can to CT and other supporter groups to keep our club on the right track for our generations to come as others have done before us and more recent times like Charlton Fans did for their club. If your not interested then please refrain from winding people up in such an important and fractious stage.

That article was from 2014. He might own 8 restaurants now, and a chippy.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 5:24 pmFeel sick.
ALK - seem to have no money/backer.
Egyptian/Farnell - not telling me that a guy who owns 7 restaurants in Dubai has £200m to buy a PL club.
He did however hold a role with the Dubai government so is it possibly a front for Dubai government investment? Describes himself as “strategic PE investor”.
Pretty annoying that of all the possible groups interested in investing across the world, we get two like this.

As in they're being seriously considered as competition for ALK. Or that they're now in pole position?

At least it can’t get any worse than a tenth place finish and losing Jeff Hendrick on a free.
Re: ALK Capital...
I am convinced that ALK will still be the successful party.
I’m also hearing that Farnell is nothing more than an intermediary and will not be involved should they be successful.

Re: ALK Capital...
There are many on here that have defended Garlick’s lack of investment in the club in recent seasons. Whilst frustrated by the lack of investment, I can understand the counter argument that he has the clubs long term interests paramount in his thoughts. If he does sell to these charlatans it would suggest he’s been under-investing to fatten the goose all along. Would better explain SD’s frustrations.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:06 pmIt'll tell you all you need to know about Garlick if he sells to these two. Few people who are now showing their true colours, now there's more in the media. This party came to jump ALK, hence why it came out in the media at that particular time. They’ve been championed by one particular board room member.

Lot of hissy fittery based on very little here.
Talk of fans mobilising etc, let’s just see some detail first.
With the greatest of respect to some of the other clubs mentioned regarding Farnell they were basket case outfits long before he appeared.
Charlton have stumbled from one shambles to another. Their antics the last time we played them were long before any of these people had come anywhere near.
I’ll wait and see first before I start talk of AFC Burnley etc.

No mobilising from me, just investigating what on the surface looks concerning. Supporters organisations would be failing in their duty if they didn’t investigate.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:33 pmLot of hissy fittery based on very little here.

Nope, I think there has been enough due diligence done to ensure it’s a good deal.
The premier league is stringent, as are the other owners in the league about prospective owners. They’ve certainly learnt their lessons from past incidents.
