Does this help?
Re: ALK Capital...
As an aside, and not sure if this has been posted on here, but the ALK group appear to have set up ANOTHER company a couple of days ago, linked to one of the previous ones. So they don’t appear to have given up...

Read Paul Waines post on his own words on what his services are. There are other things other than advising distressed clubs.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 10:08 pmHe’s a sports lawyer who has been brought in to legally advise when clubs are on there backsides. Are we in our backsides? Or are we different?

I think it's someone linked to Farnell who's put it out there that the contracts are signed etc so it's probably ********.

My bet is that El Kashashy is looking to takeover ALK Capital and Garlick has been renting out meeting room space in our Business Hub to facilitate talks.

It’s a lawyer who specialises in sport issues. In the same way that a family lawyer specialises in family issues, and a property lawyer specialises in property issues.

Re: ALK Capital...
But the Charlton fan posted something about Farnell asset stripping the club and team, how does a sports lawyer have any power to do this?

Re: ALK Capital...
As your first pick, a sports lawyer is one who specialises in legal matters with respect to sports.
You can google "top xxxx lawyers" - where xxxx can be any subject that might require a lawyer - and you will get different league tables/rankings.
Pinsents is the legal firm being used by ALK. They are ranked near the top.
Many law firms will be retained by one or another football club - so, won't be available to act for another club, because of conflict of interest.
I've not identified Chris Farnell/his firm in the rankings I've seen just yet. I'm sure he will be there somewhere.

The Charlton fan posted that Charlton fans thought that CF might asset strip the club and team. Football fans think and post a lot of things. It doesn't mean it makes sense.

Yes, I’ve come across a good number of lawyers who are decent people. I’ve also met a lot of decent football fans.Pimlico_Claret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 10:31 pmEver known a lawyer with morals? As long as they make a mint for themselves , they'll take on any job.

Boden now backtracking and suggesting that reports of contracts being exchanged may be somewhat premature.
Re: ALK Capital...
A sports lawyer is a sports lawyer. All lawyers specialise because of the vast body of law knowledge required in each area of law.

Worked with plenty of them, yes.
Re: ALK Capital...
That isn't hard to understand either is it? A lawyer is the man that files the paperwork and performs the communication. He is directed to do so by his client.
Re: ALK Capital...
He's not back tracking, this story is evolving....he reported what he was told. Subsequent calls are changing the landscape of the whole thing.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 10:36 pmBoden now backtracking and suggesting that reports of contracts being exchanged may be somewhat premature.

So we have moved on from getting a poke in the eye to a kick in the balls.
Either way I’m sure all the fans who wanted investment in and MG out are pleased.

Re: ALK Capital...
Whilst I’m very concerned about what I’m hearing - if Mike Rigg was to join another club there’d be a hell of a lot of Burnley fans telling supporters of the other club how bad he is at his job. Despite not having a very good understanding of what his role actually is.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 10:34 pmThe Charlton fan posted that Charlton fans thought that CF might asset strip the club and team. That’s why I’m taking some of these comments with a pinch of salt. I don’t think any of us had heard of this bloke 6 hours ago.
Re: ALK Capital...
What the Farnells goin on?
Re: ALK Capital...
You’ve been warned.
They’re wrong uns.
Don’t wait as long as we did in Charlton to see what they want to do.

Re: ALK Capital...
If you read all of Bodens last few tweets, it is clear he is getting that information from someone related to ALK. It doesn't mean they are right though. Still having meetings in the diary doesn't mean you haven't been gazumped.
On the surface on what I know, ALK feels a more comfortable choice. But I'm not going to write off other options just because the investor is using an experienced lawyer.

Re: ALK Capital...
No, I'm just able to see reality.
Explain the timeline to me. At the point when the current owners bought in we were a loss making championship club. What indicators were there at that point that we were going to have the success we have?

He reported that contracts had been exchanged and only PL fit and proper test to pass now. He appears to know as little or indeed less than a couple of posters on this board

Re: ALK Capital...
I was really excited about ALK, these other two though fill me with nothing but anger. How F can still be allowed anywhere near the footy industry is a scandal in itself. If Garlick sells to anyone he is involved with then he is most certainly not doing what is right by the club. I'm with the Charlton fans on this mother ******
