I've seen him on another programme "out of character" (Who Wants to be a Millionaire I think) and he was OK

Time they had a makeover and gave the contestants what they won in their own round against the the chaser. There would be no negative takers then.

I don't mind Paul. He's actually quite funny as well.

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
But that's the idea of the game, to work as a team. If they only got what they earned, it would be like too many other quiz shows.conyoviejo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:20 pmTime they had a makeover and gave the contestants what they won in their own round against the the chaser. There would be no negative takers then.
Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
The prize never really reflects the game imo. There’s too much work to do to win a moderate prize in terms of other gameshows.

I've always thought The Chase is one of the more generous shows. Definitely more so than any BBC show anyway. I don't mind Pointless but the jackpot is usually 'only' a couple of grand.

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
Best quiz show on tele and there are some good ones.
Not sure Frank for those who could have taken the lower offer, been honourable to take through the small amount they earned then starred in the Final chase.
Best just to treat the negative cowards with the contempt they deserve.
Wonder if the new one is because of Paul deteriorating health

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
I've seen many contestants take away the 10,000 pounds end of each game prize for themselves on the quiz show 'Impossible'. Not a bad little earner and each contestant gets to come back every day in the week

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
I applied for "Impossible" and when they rang me to say it was being recorded in the 1st 2 weeks of November 2019 (this current series) I had to turn it down because we were booked on a cruise to the Canaries on the dates they quoted me ... if there is another series I am hoping to be aaked on as a contestant.... but hey ho if not no worries
He isn't Frank although I was destroyed by himFactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:03 pmFriday I imagine. Hopefully he's not a tw*t like 'the beast'.

always been that way as the prizes on the bbc are paid for by the licence fee and the other channels from advertisements.SalouClaret wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:27 pmI've always thought The Chase is one of the more generous shows. Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
Good luck Bosscat, think I remember you saying you were on the Chase. You did well so I'm sure you would have a decent chance of the big prize.
Next time you watch it check out how the camera angles make the host seem 2 foot taller than the contestants when they come down. Can't remember his name but he has grown on me

They would still be working as a team to bring the chaser down Frank, but only winning the money they chose to play for.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:23 pmBut that's the idea of the game, to work as a team. If they only got what they earned, it would be like too many other quiz shows.

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
The Dark Destroyer is by far and away the best chaser, funny and a really clever guy,was he the chaser when you had your arse wiped for you when you was on BC?
Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
I went high and got battered by the Beast... I did win my show on 15 to 1 thoughElizabeth wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:46 pmGood luck Bosscat, think I remember you saying you were on the Chase. You did well so I'm sure you would have a decent chance of the big prize.

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
Yeah to be honest the possibility is there to win a big amount. If you back yourself to do it alone you could come away with £40,000. I’ve seem some though where players get through to the final and don’t answer one question which seems a bit wrong.SalouClaret wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:27 pmI've always thought The Chase is one of the more generous shows. Yeah, but didn't you wear a cruise liner shirt Boss

You have obviously never watched Pointless. I think you win a tenner but if you don't, they add another pound next time!

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
Starting to get a bit cheesed off with the number of times the answer is in the question. It goes both ways but the chaser doesn’t have to wait for them to say his name.

Re: New Chaser on "The Chase"
Credit for going high Bosscat, it's easy to opt for the middle, or even lower amount, a lot of luck is involved, as with any quiz, if you get subjects you know your laughing, but equally if you don't your crying, I've played at home often, and if movie, politics and sport questions are forthcoming, I usually do ok, but if recent pop music or science appears then I generally struggle, so there's an element of lottery to whether you win or not, and although you'd think having the answer in front of you, that doesn't always help as much as you may imagine.
Well done on winning 15 to 1, that's one of the harder shows on telly. I haven't seen it for years, but I remember some of the questions being stinkers on there.

I met the Beast in the hospitality section at a Burnley match. I think it was at Sheffield United but may have been at Huddersfield Town.....

I never knew the Beast had split from his wife. Apparently it became an open relationship and she's moved on to somebody else.

I went on the show and we beat The Beast. He did applaud when the cameras were on, definitely hates losing though and whacked the desk in front of him and stormed off pretty sharpish.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:06 pmAnd yet the beast is the only one who applauds those who beat him.

You don't win owt by being a good loser.
I remember him once saying on a charity Chase that they all still go out to win.
