Re: Jack Cork
Back on the grass but not with the rest of the players - think it will be a while yet before he's fit

Absolutely Tim. Gets some stick on here from some quarters, but I can never understand why. For me our most important and productive player, and the sooner he's back the better for me.

Let's hope we can get him back well before the end of the season.

Re: Jack Cork
I'm not his biggest fan either and I've thought for a while we really need to look for an upgrade on his aging legs as he's increasingly caught on the ball and worryingly, following this lengthy lay off, he may come back even slower. However we haven't addressed that upgrade (and if anyone even remotely suggests Stephens I'll laugh my bits and bobs off!) so until we do, we really do need him back playing asap. We're much better with him than without him.

this just shows how little football fans know about professional football and how fickle they are

Re: Jack Cork
Very important player. And has been great for us in every spell. But definitely need to be looking to upgrade and replace him. Along with about 18 others
Re: Jack Cork
Seemed to be struggling last year, little pace or strength in tackle, caught in possession too many times but now he has been out for a while I've come to think he is actually a better alternative to Westwood
And that sums up a big weakness for us in this key area of the field

Re: Jack Cork
Westy and Cork play well together...we have missed that.
Re: Jack Cork
We do need him back and I hope he gets offered and signs a new deal, but he’s looked past his best for a while for me.
I know it’s gone but if it was a choice of keeping one of Hendrick or Cork, I’d have preferred it be Hendrick.
To lose both for nothing would be a disaster, though.

Seems like quite a few PL clubs would like our Jack's services.

Re: Jack Cork
Josh Brownhill had been excellent and is one for now
At times Jack was doing a passable impression of Dithering Scottie Arfield not knowing what to do and caught in possession.
He is a good squad player but Westy with his excellent corner delivery is a better option

Was having a gander at newsnow.com/Burnleyrumours this morning...
1st story was from Sky Sports about Chris Wood having had a gambling problem and how he regretted it. The story was actually about Chris Wood the cricketer ... which tool at newsnow.com though Chris Wood the Cricketer was Chris Wood the NZ Footballer who plies his trade at Burnley ffs

Re: Jack Cork
I find Cork frustrating, as I don't see him being productive at all, simply running alongside the game. Although when he looks fired up, we win.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 4:24 pmAbsolutely Tim. Gets some stick on here from some quarters, but I can never understand why. There's no denying that results haven't been as good whilst he hasn't be playing though, and for that reason alone, whether I can see his value or not, show how important he must be - And yes, I'm happy to put this down to a lack of understanding of the game if that is the case.
Perhaps it is more a case of use of the ball whilst we are in possession, which we can all see is quite poor at times (hoofball). I'd be interested to see how that changes when Cork is fit and playing and if he creates that change in attitude towards playing the ball.
Re: Jack Cork
Cork needed to be upgraded. We have a downgrade in Stephens ( cue... he wasn’t meant to replace Cork). Cork is now being missed.
Re: Jack Cork
If Sheff Utd are interested, a Jan exchange for Lundstram could be a good opportunity for a deal
