Wouldn't like to choose a best one, far too many to choose from but for some reason, if pushed, I'd surprisingly go for Ruby Tuesday or Midnight Rambler. But when you see them live, you can't beat such as Satisfaction, Brown Sugar and Jumpin' Jack Flash.

I'd add that one to the trio of live songs - and I'd also include It's only Rock'n'roll

And thanks for this thread - now listening to the Stones.

Check out Julia Bardo. She’s got a new one out today. Very 60’sesque vibes. She’s a young Italian in Manchester.

Being serious though. Gotta be Honky Tonk.

Impossible picking one song as they can change. However Aftermath is my favourite album of the Stones. Very Beatle inspired and quite long for the period. Hence Paint it Black (USA album) and Under my Thumb would be up there. Also Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter are constants.

Pre-1970 they were absolutely brilliant but from 1970 onwards they were nowt to write home about. Plenty of their top songs already been mentioned but the B-side 'Play with Fire' is one of my fav's

I became a committed Claret on December 4th 1965, at the home game against Tottenham.

One of the records played over the tannoy before the match was Get Off Of My Cloud, so that's my favourite.

They were never quite as good after Brian Jones died, in my opinion.
Parachute Woman,Sympathy For The Devil, and Prodigal Son are brilliant.

I was always a big Beatles fan, though I did think Honky-tonk Women and Tumbling Dice were good rock songs. I've never listened to any of their albums in depth, too many of their tracks sounded the same off what I did hear.

Brian was replaced by Mick Taylor so I’d say that strengthened them in terms of playing ability. But Brian Jones had been a major influence in terms of the blues they played and that influence was lost.

Interestingly they put out a blues album called Blue & Lonesome. That was about four years ago.

Saw them in 1964 and paid 7/6d. Saw them fifteen years ago and paid £150! Sat next to them at a Chuck Berry concert in Manchester, also 1964. My claim to fame!

Foreverly, I also saw them open the show at Bradford in 63. My memory isn't as great as it was and I went to a few rocknroll concerts in those days. Was this the one the with Everly Bros and Little Richard?

Agree about Taylor, ex Bluesbreaker and quality guitarist..
Just that the dynamic changed so much.
And Taylor didn't stay too long.
Was his debut the Hyde Park gig? I saw that one.

The Hyde Park concert would have been his first, it was not long after Jones died. Taylor has been back with the Stones in recent years.

The dynamic did change. The blues influence definitely diminished to an extent. I love their blues stuff but they’ve done a lot of terrific stuff post Jones. I’m biased though, been a fan from the very beginning.

Yes..that's the one...with Bo Diddley , little Richard and The Everly Brothers .Little Richard was added to the tour because tickets weren't selling very well.I remember him running round the auditorium with his shirt off .If you bought a programme , I hope you kept it because its worth £100 plus now because it was the first full national tour that the Stones did .also on the bill was Mickey Most..he was a pretty good guitarist and I remember him playing johnny B. goode laid on his back .happy days
