Three for Everton. Monty Python defending.

1-3.
Could end up about 5 apiece at this rate.

The only thing worse than the defending on show is the BBC camera crew/producer.

Fulham are absolute gash at the back. I’ve seen better marking/defending at an U7’s grassroots game.

I was just going to post after Fulham’s latest penalty miss farce but now the game has changed with a second Fulham goal

Fulham working on the Kevin Keegan policy ----you score 3 and we will score 4 and they are being helped by a very poor second half performance from Everton.

Everton could have had six by half time but they’ve been poor in this half.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 1:30 pmFulham working on the Kevin Keegan policy ----you score 3 and we will score 4 and they are being helped by a very poor second half performance from Everton.
Re: Today's Footy
Agreed about the laugh, however, what happened to the fiercely enforced encroachment rule? Half of Everton had run into the pen area, as he was about to slide.

Fulham cant defend for toffee but they look miles more likely to beat a team than we do at the moment which is a bit worrying to say the least.

Re: Today's Footy
Shouldn’t Fulham’s missed penalty been retaken because he kicked it twice

Re: Today's Footy
No --indirect free kick to the opposition was the correct decision and applies to any place kick anywhere on the field.

Re: Today's Footy
Anyway to bring this subject back on topic, a decent weekend for the Clarets so far, Fulham & West Brom failing to put any points on the board, now hopefully West Ham can do us a favour at Bramall Lane, and if we can get 3 points tomorrow we'll be out of the bottom 3 no matter what the Blades do, that would be a great moral booster for everyone.
Fulham's next 3 games are Leicester, City and Liverpool, can't see many points for them there, so at worst we'll be on an even keel with them going into the busy festive period.
Another assist and a goal for Arfield, he's thriving up here, but let's be honest the standard of most SPL teams is lower end Championship at best, and if Gerrard doesn't go on to lift the title with Rangers this season, then he never will, they'll not get a better chance for a long time, Celtic are poor this season, and some of Lenny's signings aren't up to the mark, possibly some complacency has slipped into the minds of the Celtic players, and now there is a genuine title challenge for the other side of the city they can't handle the pressure that going for 10 in a row brings.

We really need to be doing ourselves a favour. But I think Ben Mee back is going to help us a hell of a lot. Maybe I'm just to positive for my own bloody good.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:48 pmAnyway to bring this subject back on topic, a decent weekend for the Clarets so far, Fulham & West Brom failing to put any points on the board, now hopefully West Ham can do us a favour at Bramall Lane, and if we can get 3 points tomorrow we'll be out of the bottom 3 no matter what the Blades do, that would be a great moral booster for everyone.

Let’s hope he’s fit and able to play tomorrow. The last time we won at home was the last time Ben Mee played at home.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:57 pmWe really need to be doing ourselves a favour. I think there was a similar stat regarding Tarky playing as well. Those two in defence is mandatory.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 3:04 pmLet’s hope he’s fit and able to play tomorrow. The last time we won at home was the last time Ben Mee played at home.

Re: Today's Footy
We haven't started the season well, however it's a big carrot being dangled tomorrow, win and we'll be out of the relegation zone, sure it's very early in the season, but the fact we haven't hit our straps yet, and we're still well in touch with the other teams likely to be down among the dead men, should give us confidence that we can pull off another survival campaign, yes Fulham look capable of scoring, but there's no way they'll win many games shipping goals for fun as they are. Sheff Utd are similar to us they're struggling for goals, and West Brom are fighting hard but they lack the quality at this level, I'd bite your hand off for 17th and surely we can finish above those 3 with our experience at this level.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:57 pmWe really need to be doing ourselves a favour. Re: Today's Footy
We can't be relying on other teams doing us a favour. We've finished 7th and 10th in the last 3 seasons. Let's do this!
Re: Today's Footy
Good set of results for us this weekend bar Brighton's. We really do need to get off the mark tomorrow and start our season. A couple of quick fire wins (Etihad aside!!) will completely lift the mood.

That is the opposite of a. The rule and b. The strict enforcement of recent times, when if a single play was in, the kick retaken.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:22 pmAnd which one of them affected the miss? I’d say none, so no infringement.
As for which affected him, maybe their thundering hooves did! Who knows? Not the point of the rule.

Re: Today's Footy
Leeds have battered Arsenal in that 1st half, the worry for them is it's still 0-0, Arsenal can't be as poor 2nd half surely.
I notice Aubameyang has hardly kicked a ball since signing his big new contract, it's amazing how often that occurs isn't it.

A team mate of the goalkeeper offends:
*If the ball enters the goal, a goal is awarded
*If the ball does not enter the goal, the kick is retaken
Law 14 The Penalty Kick
You too.
