Not sure we want to be "investing" in any more of Brighton's cast offs. Eliasson I'd like to try from Brizzle.

You just remember how tough the January is.
Cork and Bardsley will be like new signings.
The market is moving away from us.
Etc etc.

Sean is on record as an admirer of Solly Marsh and Adam Webster is a good Tarks replacement both young enough and not cast offs by any means

Glad we didn't go bust by spending them sorts of fees on players like him!

Has long as the club is in the hands of the present lot you can forget about any incomings
Re: Potential affordable targets in January
It’s March not Marsh.
Eliasson plays in France, Bristol is in England.
Webster cost Brighton over £20M but you said affordable?

Not sure, but I doubt he would have had a better impact than any of our current 6 right wingers
Brownhill
Brady
Jay
Barnes
JBG
Peiters
Glad we didnt waste anymore money on players, least we still have a club to support!

How does anyone know what is affordable in January ? We may have been taken over by then. Right Back, Right Wing and Midfield need some serious strengthening though.

I wouldn't be surprised if we were in the market for a centre half and Tarkowski moved on in January.

Right back and right winger are key in January. Also be looking at a replacement for Brady and obviously Tarkowski.

Re: Potential affordable targets in January
They've needed upgrading for at least a year, and we're still waiting, so I wouldn't hold your breath for any incomings in January, especially as this takeover is being held up, Those 3 positions should have been sorted in the summer, I don't believe we're so hard up we couldn't stretch to 2.5m for Eliasson, and if Dale Stephens is the answer to our midfield woes, then I don't know what the question is, right back we do need a younger model to either displace Lowton, or at least be a suitable deputy, but it's not essential in January, Midfield & Right Wing most certainly are, creativity is a must.
I'll say it again BOS at QPR should be our number one target, he's in the final 6 months of his contract, and a modest fee and wages shouldn't be out of our reach surely, if we can't even compete for players like him we really are up the creek without a paddle.

There’s a lad here plays centre forward for St George’s .......quite handy at Isle of Man local footy level.....might not be able to compete tho if Marown (current league leaders) make a bid for him.......they’ve got some big financial backer (local plasterer).

Lets hope Dyche sees the season out. It would be a disaster for the club and Garlick financially if he walked, as we would almost certainly get relegated

Please God, I just can't tolerate another month of excuse after excuse from the club. Of negativity after negativity from Dyche, and heaven forbid that bloody Chairman we have if he ever surfaces again.
Let's just put out a statement now saying we're not doing any business. Save us all the bother.

He gets an easy ride on here, rightly so in respect of what he has achieved for BFC, but he's not irreplaceable.

What would the alternative be if he left?
With Garlick not being prepared to spend any money, we are not an attractive proposition

At the moment the club is a shambles, we would struggle to recruit anyone with any pedigree. The current squad are Dyche men with many ooc at the end of the season, they won't bust a gut for a rookie

Dyche will be waiting for his January bonus.
But it wouldn't be a bad time for a new manager in terms of the team needs a complete overhaul.
It will be harder for a new man if Dyche bulks his squad up with players a new man wouldn't want.

Re: Potential affordable targets in January
I think we need to realise the market we are playing in, Chelsea brought on 3 subs today Havertz, Giroud, Pulisic, them 3 together probably cost more than our whole team. I think one of our major shortfalls has been the lack of European or international recruitment, maybe with any potential takeover, the new owners may be able to use some of their contacts in international countries to bring in some cheap and cheerful recruitments, Maybe.

We have Jimmy Dunne and Kev Long ready to step up .We dont need a player on the slide career wise.

Re: Potential affordable targets in January
hopefully ALK understand the value of a proper scouting system - i'd like them o invest in that so if we do drop we stand a much better chance of coming back up. The likes of Dale Stephens are pointless short term signings, I'd like us to sign much younger players

I’m going to throw a name in the hat.
Phillip Zinckernagel - he is having the season of his life. 16 goals and 18 assists in 34 games for Glimt in the Norwegian league. He’s a right winger and only 25. I would imagine the fee would be comfortably within in our range as well.

Re: Potential affordable targets in January
Can think of a few I’d like but how realistic they are is hard to know, given our league position and unknown ownership situation.
Let’s face it, if Garlick is still at the helm, it’s unlikely we’ll be signing anyone in January. If it’s ALK, you’d hope more chance of a signing, but then you have to question who’ll come with our PL status in the balance.
As the OP said, we need a marquee signing, someone offering creativity and calmness in midfield + an attacking RB, imo.

I saw a tweet this morning from Ben Wells at football radar that he made yesterday quoting these exact stats, and jokingly thought to myself give it a couple of days and someone who hasn't seen him play but seen his stats will recommend him as a target.
Didn't think I would be so far out with the timing
