I wouldnt be too bothered about Sly Stallone being involved. The real Rocky has been at Burnley for years.

Heard anything in timing though CT?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 6:49 pmI’m not teasing. I just think from last week’s info that Farnell & Elkashashy are out of the running. I do think the club will be sold because the major shareholders clearly want that. I doubt the three you mention will be involved but there was a Tom Cruise played for Arsenal a couple of years ago.
Are we close as in this week? This month?
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
To be fair to CT i dont think he can answer that other than its close. It is becoming frustrating but we cant do anything about it, so better to relax and wait for the inevitable.

I think a man as attuned as CT to goings on at the club will know the big signing day and have his article ready
Whether he can tell us that info is another matter... can’t blame a bloke for trying though

It's a bit like The Times crossword this! DJW, Would you expect this takeover be done in time to influence any incoming transfers?

I said I wouldn’t post anything more on the takeover and the wider processes.
I will say, as others have, I would expect this to be resolved in a very short period of time.

Egyptian still favourite according to our favourite click bait publication today, they write:
Takeover talk has dominated the headlines surrounding Turf Moor in recent months as negotiations between Burnley chairman Mike Garlick and two interested parties continue.
Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Kashashy and sports lawyer Chris Farnell are believed to be the front-runners for the club and remain confident of securing a deal. It is understood they have signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), provided proof of funding and are awaiting the Premier League Owners' and Directors' Test clearance for a takeover attempt believed to be worth around £200million.

CT- Can we safely say this is a report, which is far from being accurate, just asking for a fellow supporter

It's what that publication believe to be the case but I don't know who they have spoken to. I can't imagine it will be anyone from the club because they won't comment.onewillieirvine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 5:34 pmCT- Can we safely say this is a report, which is far from being accurate, just asking for a fellow supporter

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
You can tell that Nixon hasn't got the foggiest idea when it comes to our takeover - that's why he's sitting on the fence and being so vague. He seems to know plenty about what is going on at Wigan but not at Burnley. If he had any idea then I'm fairly certain he'd be saying so just so he can give himself an "Aye" when the time comes.

He seems to have been embroiled in the Wigan takeover all the way through.

You never know CT with new owners at the helm they may want the likes of yourself and other supporter clubs to have more integration in the plans for the club to ensure the continuity to the fans starts on a positive note.

Hopefully - I think it is fair to say that supporter engagement has been better than it is now although that’s not all the club’s doing.

Yeah, but did you see that the 97th category on the list for vaccinations was "Burnley fans"?? So don't get your hopes up! The only people behind us was "extra terrestrials!"
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
And in other breaking news Nixon has just tweeted that one of the 2 bids might be successful but he also has been told by an insider at the club that neither bid might be successful.
He’s encouraging his followers to retweet his breaking news.

No problem.
I might have an inside track for the transfer window too.
In the jungle I’ve also heard from Nixon that it’s one of four gonna win it - apparently it’s filmed 6 months ago and Nixon’s brother in law lives in one of the dungeons

Must admit I've not seen him for a couple of years since he was at one of our U23 games at Curzon Ashton. He was sat just to my right and I was tempted to tweet him to ask if he was watching any football.

I was tempted - and he once sat next to me at a reserve game at Accy. The seats there are tight without someone that size sitting next to me.
Back to the subject of the takeover - I've just seen something which tends to suggest we are not very far away now from some news.
