It would not surprise me if we are no nearer a takeover come February, with the transfer window shut and no new signings

I understand the ban on political discussion. It’s a football message board at the end of the day and while I have made one or two very small contributions personally to politics threads in the past, you get the same posters arguing with each other who despite what must be endless hours of in my opinion wasted hours, they’re fully entrenched in their camps and it does become boring because it’s the same on every thread. At one point in lockdown I must have counted 15 political threads on the first page alone and people who don’t have accounts but like to read this board must have been turned off by it.

But there are threads with political debate still taking place, maybe they are just better hidden

If it's not apparent then at least it gets us closer to the magic 100.

I could well imagine that ALK will have spoken to Dyche if the other party are out of the running which has been suggested through speculation earlier in the thread. I can't imagine this being the case if both were still in the running.

That said, I thin SD's view of the world is that he won't be counting anything until the ink is dry and someone is in that can actually deliver on what may be promised.

Keeping his options open would be my guess around any other job.

You never know in the world of football and things change quickly as he has stated before so he probably would consider most jobs in the sense he wouldn't want to turn anything down at this stage whilst it is still 'theoretical'.

I think there was suggestion that Farnell was using his media contacts to spin that they were out of the running.

There was then suggestion that there was an announcement due on Friday.

Nothing really other than speculation and bits of information which is causing 2+2 = 5 in my opinion. It sounds like the process in ongoing with confidence it will happen in good time but just impatience on here and these snippets which make people think its taking longer than it should be.

I only commented on it, because my original post was met with... Tell me what it says, but iam not buying that rag... Which you then replied to. I can imagine Dyche going to Derby. It is only an hours drive away from his home, so he could commute to work and be permanently based with his family.

We know he has no interest in football outside the job and family comes first for him.
