Problems with Club Website

Post by ClaretDiver » Wed Dec 09, 2020 11:56 am

Has anyone else encountered this issue when trying to buy of the club shop online.

Have placed an item in my basket and gone to checkout but it just takes me to my account preferences page. Have updated it etc but continues to do this every time I try and checkout....PITA as I want to by something but it is actively not letting me....

I had this a couple of days ago. Eventually I discovered that I hadn't supplied all the info needed in setting up my profile - a bit of my address was missing. Once I'd updated my profile, it all worked fine.

My brother in law managed to set up his website's shop on his own and to be honest I've been really impressed as he's not the brightest bulb in the box.

Surely it cant be that hard? I've never ordered anything off the Burnley website but I must read a complaint every few weeks.

As ever, Premier League on the pitch, GM Vauxhall Conference off it.

I'd remove words four to six (a bit of)

I had this all I needed to do was update my address and it fixed it. Although not very helpful it is at least telling you that you are missing a vital detail in your profile.

So do as it asks and update your account when you log in

But why should I complete a full profile if I only want to make a purchase. Why not just have a simple shop design where you put in your details at checkout. I will try this but if this doesn't work then won't be bothering again. I know someone who ordered without having a profile....work that one out.....

No idea, I’m just telling you what I had to do in my case I had no address so they couldn’t have posted it. I personally think it should take you through steps for your order but hey.

By the way I worked it out after many swear words and temper tantrum’s with the sxxx website. It was simple once I had edited my account but it isn’t very intuitive or helpful.

If you really want a frustrating website then try booking a visit to a National Trust property.

I posted about the clunky useless shop website several weeks ago. It was met with a great degree of sarcasm and smart @rses implying I didn’t know what I was doing. Glad others are now raising this issue. The website is woefully inadequate and I have seen websites for small businesses in my locality which are better in look and feel and ease of ordering. We are a Premier League club with a website on a par with clubs in the National League.

I share your frustrations. I gave up when I tried to order a few weeks ago. I am not prepared to drive over 100 miles to Burnley to purchase items so spending money elsewhere now.

I'm sure somebody who works for the club will read this message board. It would be nice to hear their opinion of how useless the online shopping site is as it's been like that for ages now. Seems pretty obvious the club dont give a toss about their online shoppers.

Made a couple of attempts to buy something last week.
Gave up.
It's a shame really.
But if they can't be bothered to ensure they've a usable site for customers/fans, then I can't be bothered to spend any money.
Simple really.

Possibly the most important time to have a functioning e-commerce website

They need to concentrate on the repayment of season tickets was the last reply I got when I questioned being able to spend our accrued points online. Despite at least two updates to the website it has actually got worse but we, the fans, don't matter anymore

I have emailed the club describing in some detail my difficulties in making a purchase and my reasons for not doing so. If I get a response I will share it on here.

Is this the same website that has the “ all prem games cancelled “ message still up ? from around March this year . The site is an utter shambles . You can almost imagine someone in the club shop having to maintain it
