Tarkowski

Not sure if he will stay or go but nobody can doubt his commitment especially with the headed clearance near the end.

I could say he's putting himself in the shop window, so of course he's going to put in his best performances.

But I think he has respect for Sean Dyche and wants to put a performance in for him.

I don't care which one it is.

That's what he said he'd do in his interview, that he'd give it his all. The only concern for me was a potential distraction. Thought he was magnificent tonight and he's got my man of the match vote although, to be honest, I could have given it any of them.

It shouldn't matter, as he should be giving his all regardless.

Respect and window has to both come into it. If I was playing football for someone I'd play my best out of respect of the manager who bought me and gave me my chance. He has to be professional, regardless.

And Mee didn't even look at him, just walked away.

Although they did share a low five or a fist bump in the second half, so maybe all is well after all. :)

This is when Burnley are at their best. Tarkowski was colossal tonight, but the whole back 5 were superb and organised. I think bringing Barnes on was a good move, with Arsenal having little discipline to their play

He set the scene tonight with an excellent tackle on Saka as he broke into the penalty area. Superbly timed and put his mark on the game with that.
Having said that, we had a complete team performance tonight and even the lads up front contributed because they kept putting pressure on Arsenal trying to play out from the back and time and time again forced them to go back to the keeper. They will get no recognition from many fans for this sort of work, however, it is so important to the team. Having said that, Wood should have scored!

Agreed-the big miss for me though was Vydra's towards the end when Barnes set him up. This one seems to have gone unnoticed

Fantastic player, and a proper grafter....I really hope he realises the grass isn't always greener.

Fair play. I don’t want to see him go but I understand why and he is doing it (so far) in the best possible way.

I still believe that he is happy here, I blame Southgate for his big club snobbery.

Aye... but if you're good enough, it usually is:
Trips
Ings
Keane

We need players committed to Burnley Football Club. It really is as simple as that. He had his chances for England, and was found wanting! He hasn’t played for the national team since and that is down to James Tarkowski. Moving to a “bigger” club won’t help, as he will rarely feature. Honestly, thinking that you’re better than you really are is a very slippery slope.

Great commitment, credit to him.

He deserves a step up to a top six team. Not a West Ham, that’s just a cash up not a step up. But Leicester I can see, as long as we have a replacement capable of being as good.

Unfortunately imo Tarks England chances under Southgate have probably gone regardless of which club he plays for.

MacGuire, Mings, Keane, Coady, Dier, Gomez, Lascelles, Stones and, yes, Walker are all ahead of him now. He must realise this and a move now will only be for money and potential European games.

Top player who’ll probably be leaving soon. As long as we get a decent replacement (Jones) then I’ll be happy.
