Nixon linking him with us this morning. 19 year old at Derby too - can’t remember his name though.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:16 pmMaybe the lad O’Brien at Huddersfield. Linked in the summer and back playing 90 minutes every game now after an injury earlier in the season. Only 20 years old I think.
Who will be the first signing under ALK

Yeah, I was out by smidge. O’Brien was 21 when we were first linked with him. Knight is 20 next month. Both central midfielders and both certainly the right profile to be targeting imo.

Lundstrum arguably quicker than Westwood / Cork - but there’s certainly no evidence of him being ‘stronger’ or indeed an improvement on either of those two.
He didn’t play much in their promotion season albeit had a good run when everything was going well for them last year. He appears to be quite inconsistent, the plus point is he can play on the right and whip a ball in, kind of stop gap, Hendrick-esque.

TBH I’ve never seen him play but 20 year old Luke Jephcott at Plymouth has 12 league goals so far this season. Welsh U-19/U-21 international. One for the future?

He strikes me as a very achievable signing who would help bring genuine competition in the middleCubanclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 12:24 pmLundstrum arguably quicker than Westwood / Cork - but there’s certainly no evidence of him being ‘stronger’ or indeed an improvement on either of those two.

I think, similar to Hendrick, he can play centrally but is more effective playing the right hand side and putting a shift in. More industry than guile.ZizkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 3:38 pmHe strikes me as a very achievable signing who would help bring genuine competition in the middle

If that doesn't sound like a Burnley squad player....Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 3:42 pmI think, similar to Hendrick, he can play centrally but is more effective playing the right hand side and putting a shift in. More industry than guile.

Re: Who will be the first signing under ALK
No doubt that he ticks a lot of boxes. But we already have a lot of industry......and miss the guile, ability to retain possession and or go past opposing players. We could really do with something a bit different. But he would certainly be a very safe signing.

We need Robbie Blake
Re: Who will be the first signing under ALK
Not sure what the obsession with Lundstrum is?
Re: Who will be the first signing under ALK
George Baldock would be a better idea but that would need to wait until the Summer.
Re: Who will be the first signing under ALK
Gallagher at West Brom would be awesome. No idea if Chelsea want to keep him tho.
Re: Who will be the first signing under ALK
for this window, I just can't see anyone coming in as a first team player outside the UK & Irish leagues, when I look at that, I will be surprised if we bring anyone in that will go into the first team within the next six weeks. Therefore, our very own iceman returning to fitness and getting into the starting 11 during the next 6 weeks will seem like a new player, well at least for the first 120 min's.
I can see a couple "for the future" players coming in though.

Lundstram is a Championship quality footballer in my eyes. No thanks.

Watching Shaqiri today. He’s had 10 minutes of premier league footie all year. I don’t know if it was messageboard speculation before but surely he’d fill a number of roles and we could be crafty with the wages like we did with Joe Hart.

Not sure if its been mentioned on here but the young lad from Reading, Olise, is reported to have a 8m Buyout clause. If true, it should be a no brainer.

Sheff Utd have a couple of very good players, they’ve just made rubbish signings and consequently lost their ‘team’ poor management for mewilliamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 7:31 amIs this the same Lundstram who had five goals and four assists in the Premier League last season? Bit harsh!
