West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
We’re looking devoid of creativity at the minute. Would like to see Dwight and Jay in the side second half. COYC.

We need to get Alizee on straight after halftime or we won't get anything in this game.

Solid first half with not much in it. Need more of the same and if we can stay within one goal of them until the last 10 mins we can then throw some subs on and try and grab a draw.
No need for Dyche to do anything rash and need to keep our subs in hand in case one or two players get injured

Nothing enjoyable about that first half, except that we are only 1-0 down.
Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
We could play for hours like this and we wouldn't score.

Worry is I think dyche will be happy with the half apart from the goal, west ham are there for the taking, unfortunately we are crap

I'd bring Jay, Vydra and McNeil on at half-time, that was beyond abject

Does Dyche stand there on the touchline with his arms folded before HT thinking no creativity, no pace, limited forwards with no confidence, no goals scored by us in the last 4 away games.....let’s have more of the same. let’s keep plugging away and persevering. So infuriating. It an absolute disgrace and Abysmal management in my eyes. Make some changes!

The negativity on here is the most depressing thing of all. Yes we’re still lacking a spark of creativity, but we haven’t been that bad. And Free kick apart, Brady IS having a good game.

West Ham haven’t been brilliant, yet have still managed to be a million times better than us in that first half.

Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
Hmmm. Started brightly but after conceding lost our way (just like both ManU and MK Dons) but growing back in.
We miss Taylor massively especially if Dwight is out. Both wide players have been poor and both strokers struggled to either hold the ball or lay it off effectively. At least Wood has got a couple of attempts off. I would replace either wide midfield with Dwight at half time, give both strikers a rocket and then bring on Jay after 10 mins if we have no joy

Optimistic Burnley fans: very unlucky not to be level
Realistic Burnley fans: probably deserve to be 1-0 down
Pessimistic Burnley fans: absolutely toothless going forwards, calamitous at the back, midfield nowhere to be seen. Make 3 subs now
Dyche: doesn't matter how we've played. Only one goal in it. So carry on
I think I'm somewhere between realistic and pessimistic

hard to say how we will come out in the 2nd half , but we need to push forward and leave gaps at the back .

The only saving grace is our best players are on the bench. Get them on Dychey lad.

It wouldn’t matter if we had ronaldo and messi up front
The ball just doesn’t get to them
We just don’t break with any pace and take anyone on to get the ball in to them
Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
A bit of Clinton Morrison’s half time analysis to enjoy.
Excellent.
Excellent.

Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
How many times will pundits and commentators keep banging on about Wood and Barnes are a real physical threat and that teams are about to get bombarded. No they aren't and teams are mopping them up almost without breaking sweat these days. It's become the easiest afternoon of the entire season for every single team. Our "physicality" is a pure myth.
And yes, Brady is doing pretty well, but it's all relative and he still can't produce a final ball, even from a corner or a free kick.

Poor goal to concede though. Noone is close e ough to Antonio.
Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
I'm beginning to think Wood has a clause in his contract, saying he must start all games when fit to play, he is shocking at the moment.

I've had a gutful of the gutless attack of Barnes/Wood.
How long do you nievely and vainly wait in the hope they will play themselves into getting even moderately back towards goalscorering form

This. We never win when we have more than 50% possession.

Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
Just throwing it out there (and most definitely one of my most stupid suggestions) but I’d switch Pieters for McNeil and bring Brady to LB, and push Dwight up. I’d also swap Barnes with Vydra, for some pace. To be fair to Wood, although he’s been poor, he’s been the better of the two up top. Bring Jay on later for him if it’s not working
Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
Best case scenario now is he hooks the sh1te up front, brings on the actual footballers, they do the business and then even Dyche can’t justify starting the sh1te again next game.

If it doesn't shout out that we need a couple of quality players bought in the next 2 weeks, then absolutely nothing will.

To be fair Gudmonsson has been the worst midfielder for me. But disappointed at both our forwards reallyDark Cloud wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 3:53 pmHow many times will pundits and commentators keep banging on about Wood and Barnes are a real physical threat and that teams are about to get bombarded. Re: West Ham v Burnley - Match Thread
Good grief! I just came on here to read this thread. I'm off again now for a half bottle of antidepressants!
Is there a match thread for people who support Burnley (not without question but look for positives rather than ****)? Most of the last 3 pages are full of posts slating various players. If I was stood near half these posters I would be fuming!
