The moment I knew it was going to be our night.
The moment I knew it was going to be our night.
I turned to my Brother and said "we are going to win this" as Origi hits the crossbar after Bens utter howler....

When Pope came out and caught that final cross I was shouting “go down! Go down!” and as he slowly dropped to the floor I knew we’d got it!!!

It reminded me of when Rhodes hit the post at Deadwood and we went on to win .

I think mine was a couple of days ago when I saw the thread titled something like "I know let's drop Barnes from Sunday's Match" Just thought, I know what's coming but to be honest it was relative to Barnes scoring lol not necessarily winning but........................

So did I. I then celebrated what I thought was the final whistle in the same way. Then looked up to see Salah bearing down on my goal. What was all that about?!

I took the generous offer of 2000/1 for a 1-0 Burnley win with Ben Mee to score.
I was thinking it should have been the skipper that stepped up for the penalty.
P.s I celebrated twice when Mike Dean blew for a free kick 30 seconds before the real final whistle.

If you watch him when we need to use time effectively (aka timewasting) he goes down after every catch and looks liable to do so from even having the ball thrown to him by the ballpersons.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:14 pmWhen Pope came out and caught that final cross I was shouting “go down! Re: The moment I knew it was going to be our night.
Origi's miss was definitely a big turning point, if he'd scored that the whole complexion of the 2nd half would have changed, but he didn't, and the rest is history as they say.
I think it's only the Leicester and Everton games where we have scored first this season and failed to win the match, so as many suspect the 1st goal is imperative for us. And if we get it we don't relinquish the lead often.

When Popey made the 2 fantastic saves in the second half You could tell it would be one of those nights for them where they weren’t going to score and I thought we would nick it. Was surprised that we got a pen though, we don’t get many.

Mark Lawrenson confidently announced "I don't think Liverpool are going to score tonight" as the clocked ticked over to 90 minutes.Claretmisterg wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:45 pmWhen Popey made the 2 fantastic saves in the second half You could tell it would be one of those nights for them where they weren’t going to score and I thought we would nick it. Think we played better vs West Ham; only difference being that Antonio scored his chance & Origi didn’t. Would take a loss at West Ham for the feeling of beating Liverpool though.

At no point in that game did I think we were going to win. Followed the Clarets too many years.

I came to the conclusion VAR deemed Mike Deans whistle blowing wasn’t intended and so play continued for a bit.

With several of the new directors having some direct links with the church I posted earlier in the week that some divine intervention wouldn't go amiss'
Origi clatters the woodwork when through on goal and then we are awarded a penalty (Dyche commented post match that on average we get a penalty once every 24 matches in the PL) to seal a memorable win and a much needed 3 points.
Let's hope it lasts for the rest of the season and beyond.
