Re: Match Day Thread: Fulham vs Burnley
They count how many 'possessions' a team has. So if the team has a lot of passes and a lot of successful touches they have a lot of possession.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 3:50 pmI always thought it was down to who had the ball. If the opposition intercepts, it switches to them. If somebody crosses the ball it's still their possession, but it switches if a defender heads it out.
If however a team has more time on the ball and doesn't make a lot of passes or touches then they are considered to have less possession.
In other words it's not a timing of how long a team carries the ball, or how many set pieces or headers they win, but how many 'possessions' they have in total compared to the opposition.
Re: Match Day Thread: Fulham vs Burnley
got to have a pop at Vydra in any way possible for some people. I thought it was a penalty

We need a Vydra goal now. It won't please some on here, but it'll do him the world of good.

We're going to get 20 pens now before the season ends.

How many is a lot? If you get the ball and pass to the keeper, that's surely possession?superdimitri wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 3:59 pmThey count how many 'possessions' a team has. So if the team has a lot of passes and a lot of successful touches they have a lot of possession.

Not having a go at all
Just seemed soft
Would have rather he took the pen and scored

Read what I put. This half neither was getting the ball. I thought you were alright. Clearly not.

Vydra wins penalties because he gets in those positions more. How many times has he had touches in the box today?

Not a dig, pointing out that some posters see incidents differently, depending who the player is.

Re: Match Day Thread: Fulham vs Burnley
Blimey 2 pens in the space of 4 days, Jay on a HT, and that should be enough to book a 5th round berth, been a pretty good few days for the Clarets.
Re: Match Day Thread: Fulham vs Burnley
So Vydra earns a penalty.
Why is he not allowed to take it?
I'm pretty shocked...but maybe I shouldn't be.

Tarkowski gets a yellow for nothing there in my opinion

If they played in league one, we’d probably be losing.

Well I have been critical of Vydra before, if I’m included in your three then you can remove me!
Great save BPF again.
