We've just had two excellent performances and results. And so right now we ought to be glad we have the four strikers, rather than some criticising the ones they don't think should start just to support their view of who should start.

I cannot believe we have won away at Fulham 3-0 and all you lot can do is snipe at each other that one of you are right. We just beat Liverpool and Fulham, how about letting Sean look after it for now, eh?

I agree Taio but certain posters think Vydra doesn't even deserve a chance and its quite ridiculous given he's never had a proper run of games. My point is Jay and Vyds need to be used so much more often and to keep the opposition guessing. Not to mention we are much better to watch with Jay and Vyds up top and today was a joy

I think a case could be made for anyone of the four to start. But I don't think there's any need to unfairly criticise other players in the process especially given our current form.

I agree although I've never once insulted Barnes or Wood im just merely pointing out I think we can improve and certain players can help with that given the chance. There's no malice from me at all and as far as im aware it's a good debate which is why I love football

Theres talent there, needs a run of games...but I get that Barnes and Wood may offer more defensively.
I think this post says it all about our style of play. I wonder how many other fans talk about the denfensive qualities of their strikers?

Just to be clear I was making a general point. I was not aiming it at a specific individual.

How did Vydra's last penalty go?
Your dislike of Vydra is proper weird.

You do realise we wouldn’t have even been playing in the FA Cup today if it wasn’t for him?

Nail on the head right there. And I agree it's borderline obsessive tbh and is clearly incapable of saying anything positive about him

Agree fully with you. He doesn’t run the miles, because he reads the game. Knits play, and creates a higher platform to play from. I think his impact is regularly under appreciated.

I’m not sure the “doesn’t run the miles” bit is correct for Cork.

I was just asking a question, I passed no comment.

I don't dislike him, thought he played well today. I just think Wood is better - and the stats bear that out.

Stats also show that Jay has scored the most goals in the Premier league out of all them so therefore he should be starting if you want to go down that route

Sorry BC I wasn't dismissing his work ethic, which is very strong, but he's not having to react to being out of position as often as others.

Wood and J Rod would be my preferred pairing.

Perhaps this puts the mad idea of cash plus Mat for King to bed
Another top performance from Mat along side Jay
Horses for courses ,but playing pass and move ball to feet seems to work
Villa have Mings, reasonable in the air but not great in the ground, perhaps we try Jay and Mat as starters and see where it takes us

I like Vydra and he played pretty well today, but he missed 2 golden opportunities in the first half.
Had it been Wood, he would have been crucified on here. Let's keep a sense of perspective please.
A very good week for the clarets and we're looking foward to Villa. UTC.

And mine with Vydra being used much more often off the bench

Wood is a better player than Vydra and has proved that over the years. He has however been desperately out of form, and while vydra has also missed chances recently, he offers more in build up play and movement.

Edit - Rodriguez is better than both

Ah Mr Tall, how are you? I wasn’t criticising our style bud, I love a good defence, it’s an art. I was more getting at all those fans who criticise us. I laugh at all that ‘anti football’ shite, there is no one way of playing the game, it’s only in fairly recent times that football suddenly had to be ‘entertaining’, it’s a sport not ‘show’. Whatever gets the points is the main thing.
